The Arnova 7b G2 DT is a resistive Dual Touch Android Tablet is currently the cheapest second Generation (G2) device available from Arnova, as low as 99 euros, please check our device review.

Image Enlarger

Here is an easy way to install Android Market on your Arnova 7b G2 resistive Dual Touch (DT) tablet. This custom firmware is based our dump of Arnova's latest firmware dated 2011/12//13 (fingerprint: 1.0.4.GINGERBREAD.eng.root.20111213.124400) where we have added Android Market and root.
With our Kasty EZ firmware, to get you a working Android Market and root on your Arnova 7b G2 DT Tablet in less than 10 minutes just from your tablet, without any drivers or computer needed.

Install procedure

Before starting, please make sure you backup all your existing apps, data and files that are on your tablet as they will be erased during the flash process. Also make sure your device is connected to the power.

Step 1. Flashing the firmware

Run Appslib that can be found in the applications on your tablet. While in Appslib, search for "Arctools" application, you should get "ArcTools (Market Apps installer & Disk tester)" in the list, download, install and run the application.
In Arctools, go to Firmware tab, select "Arnova 7b G2 DT EZ custom firmware 1.12" (or more recent than 1.12 if there is one)
Read the disclaimer in the application and press the checkbox if you agree with the conditions, then press the Download button.
It should take about two minutes to complete the new firmware download.
Restart the tablet when the program is inviting you to.

For Step 1, instead of using Appslib, you can also choose to manually download and install the firmware, we are providing a link for you, together with the official Arnova Flashing procedure

You said : "This firmware is based on latest official firmware from Arnova, where we have pre-installed root access (if you need it) and Android Market. "

Where you found a firmware for 7bG2 on that page ?

I mentioned the tools here:

Gingerbreak works randomly on Arnova G2 tablets.

Try Steve ttz642t‎ scripts if Gingerbreak does not work for you.

Problem solved. This morning there was a demand to update the firmware, after the update I did again an attempt to login

on the Market andnow it is ok. Meanwhile the Market is changed to Play Store.

Hi, i used arctools to install the firmware on my 7b g2 (capacitive touch). No problems at all except one. The g-sensor doesn't work properly on apps i've downloaded with google play.

if i download labyrinth with appslib, then is everything ok. But when i download it with google play ( tried a clean download, but also an update on the appslib version) the g-sensor doesn't work properly. If i tilt horizontal, the game tilts vertical and vice versa.

Is it possible to fix this? I think it will be only a minor change in a config file or something, but it will mess up the appslib version probably ( which is ok for me, i'll only download apps from google play then)

Hi,

After getting my Arnova 7bG2, I used the arctools to flash it. It seems I don't have the accounts managing setting anymore. Is this normal, or should I flash again to fix this? If it is normal, does anyone know if the original firmware was also missing this option? Can I go back to the original firmware (didn't backup at the time).

Greetings from Belgium

EIDT: It's the resistive one 🙂

Hi,

What a REALLY GREAT video if you are a novice with this tablet like me, I couldn't have asked for a better explanation on how to do this, (mind you I haven't done it yet). Can you tell me does this work exactly the same for the Arnova 7b G2 with a capacitive screen? I noticed in the video it had Dual Touch on the screen and worked out it must be the one with the resistive screen.

Secondly, it says to back up all apps etc, but being the novice I am, can someone please tell me how to do this?

Any help with these questions would be really appreciated Smile
