Hi,

I hope someone can help, I bought an Arnova 7b G2 about a month ago, I happy with it but I have one of many problems, the one I need help with at the moment is Video's and Music.

In the booklet with 7 small pages of info it says:

You can transfer your medis files to the Arnova either by copy/pasting them into the respective folders using Windows Explorer or by using Windows Media Player.  Open windows Media Player and then use the Sync tab to synchronize your music, videos and photos onto your Arnova.

I did this exactly as instructed and nothing opens, can anyone help please? Frown

Arnova booklet is not very useful and gives pretty poor information.

To copy audio/video on an Arnova G2 tablet (or any other Android 2.3 Gingerbread based tablet) you need to do the following:

- connect your tablet to your computer thru the USB cable

- mount the tablet on the computer: go in the notification area (top of the screen), click on the line that says USB connected, press the Turn on USB storage button

- on your computer: a new window should open asking to open a new drive, confirm "Open folder to view files" (Windows 7), or just browse to your list of drives on your computer, you should see a new drive letter (or 2 drives if you have a SDcard inserted in your tablet)

- go inside that new drive, it should show directories such as (Data, DCIM, Music, Pictures, Video… )

- copy all your video content from your PC to the Video directory on the tablet drive that you have opened.

Audio content (MP3…) should go to Music directory.

- when all the files are copied and you are done, press Turn Off USB storage button on your tablet to unmount the drive.

Hope it helps.

Hello admin,

Thank you so much for getting back to me, and explaining it so well, this is first time I have received an answer on a forum to do with this tablet, I won't be going anywhere else from now on Smile

Sorry to say though it didn't work, when I go to music on the home screen the songs I down loaded are not there, so I went to files, Internal Memory, scroll down to Music, there I see the album (which is WMA which most of my music is), touch the screen to open the album, go to the track I want to play and a window opens up with 'Importing Plain Text File, underneath this it says 'Select the encoding that makes the text readable, and under that it says 'Western European (windows-1252), it seems to be trying to open my music and video files in pro OfficeSuite that came with the tablet, I have been playing with it to open documents, maybe I set it to open all files or something, you can see from my knowledge of Android how easy it is for me to make a mistake Frown

Do you think there is any hope for meCry, I would appreciate any help you could give me.

Also I would just like to say, before I set up OfficeSuite I still could not open any wma or wmv files, it used to say file not supported or something, so I downloaded Realplayer to see if that would help and it didn't, can I download Windows Media Player to this tablet?

Thanks in advance for any help forthcoming!

It looks like the Music player application does not like WMA files (I haven't checked to confirm yet).

Arnova 7cG2 specs on their website mentions only MP3 format for audio playback.

I suggest that first you try to copy an MP3 file on the tablet, see if it works. If it does, then you'll need to find a music player that supports WMA. There are probably some in Appslib, please have a look. Maybe other forum users do have some Apps name to recommend. You could also try to install Android Market/Google Play where you'll find nice music players, but that's another story... maybe at a later time.

Thanks to both globula_neagra and admin for getting back to me.

When it said in the booklet as follows:

I just assumed it did, I think this is very misleading, before I bought the tablet I downloaded the booklet and thought, 'great I can just download all my music and video's form my Windows Media Player, never mind, it's done now, I'll move on.

So is there anyway I can convert all my files from wma/wmv on my computer to a different format?

Once again any help would be much appreciated Laugh

Great, thanks for that, I don't know how that works, and if I can still kept them in wma/wmv as well, as they work really well on my phone etc.

Thanks, I will 🙂

I have just searched on Google and when I click Format Factory and then click download I get this

I thought I would just click on Format Factory, click download, and it would download. I know I'm being a pain but you wouldn't have a link where I can just go and download Format Factory?

Hi again globula_neagra,

Downloaded Format Factory, and converted a film and it works perfectly, I can't thank you enough, but don't know what I am going to do when the shareware runs out in 40 days, when it said free I though it would be free forever, but I can still download my favourite video on to the player for now.

Thanks once again for all your help!

The format factory has been free in the last 5 years and it will continue to be free

I think that you downloaded from other site, not the official

Here is the link from the official site.

Hi again,

Thanks for returning to helpLaugh

That's exactly where I went and in the top right hand corner there was this:

Main site

So I clicked on it and downloaded, and then it said it was a Zip file or something like that, then is said this is shareware and it lasts 40 day or register, I hope you know what I mean.

I know this is an old post but I just bought an Arnova 7 G3 and have had the same problem, after reading all the posts and other comments on the web I checked to see what file type the music was that came pre loaded (mp3 files) the files I was trying to copy were 'version.wma'.  Quite by luck I downloaded RealPlayer to try transfering from this and found that it has a built in converter (right click on file you want to transfer and click on Convert to..), I converted the file to MP3 Audio only and then transferred these files to my tablet.........and hey presto it worked!Laugh
