Hi, I did post this question in another thread so please accept my apologies for posting again but i thought i may get some help by posting in it's own thread.
I bought my young daughter the Arnova 7 g3 for her birthday in september & I've not done any firmware changes as it's already rooted, i only added the google market when i first purchased it & it's been fine for her but yesterday when she went to switch it on it just shows the Arnova boot screen & that's it.
I've tried resetting by pressing the power button & pushing a paper clip in the mic (reset) hole but it just restarts it back to the same Arnova screen.
Can anyone help me to either do a hard reset, factory reset or restore the firmware, I've looked through the instruction manual & it does not even mention the reset hole, the support on the Arnova website is not helpful for this model & I've found nothing about doing a hard reset or how to put firmware on in these forums as i have searched first.
As a last choice i could take it back to the shop where we purchased it but that's means they will send it off for repair which could take weeks.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
You can try a low level approach flashing "Elvish" firmware using Live Suite, you should fine the links for that in our Arnova 7 G3 forum here.
Once you got you device back to life and Elvish firmware running, you can always install ADB and flash back the original Arnova firmware from ninjaduck & ALD3 dump.
Cheers.

I can't seem to find links to 'Live Suite' in this forum anywhere, I did a search several times but no links, could the link have been deleted now ?
Â
EDIT:
DOH!  I never knew it was a Google product..... I've got it now. Â
Actually, I just realized we haven't hosted a copy of LiveSuite yet, so I have just made a mirror here:Â
LiveSuitPack_v1.07.zip LiveSuite V1.07 (2010-11-2)
Â
I'm not sure what you downloaded, but it's not a software from Google, if unsure, you can use our mirrored copy.

I found it at the following link which is why I thought it was a google product......

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_DiNI-XElr-OTU0M2VjYmUtOGVkMy00OTUzLTkxN2EtNDdkN2EwZTE2Mzlm/edit
Â
I downloaded that one I found and installed Elvish with no problems and it's working fine apart from auto rotate which is not a problem. I'm very happy for my daughter now and once again Arctablet has helped me with a tablet so a big thanks to you and this website.
Â
THANK YOU!
Â
You're welcome, glad you managed to fix your device.
The rotate problem is a known issues of the Elvish firmware running on the Arnova 7 G3. It can be fixed by restoring the original firmware dump I mentioned in post #2.
Cheers.

My tablet has this same problem and I cannot get LiveSuit to work. All I can access of the menu bar is the help guide, nothing else works on it. Any help on that?
The tablet was downloading an update to facebook when it just froze and now all I get is the Arnova boot screen. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Hi, I too have the exact same problem.
Once I have downloaded the LiveSuit.exe to my laptop, what do i do next. Simple step by step instructions if possible.Â
I am deep in rural Nepal and really need to get the tablet working again asap.
Once I do the firmware install, will i loose apps or data from the machine? I will obviously remove the micro sd before right?

I have the same problem, I was installing ARCTOOLS but in the process my 7G3 froze and would not respond so I decided to hold down the power button to power off. When the tablet powered back on it will get stuck on the Arnova screen and will not do anything else.
Can anyone help? Â Â
I would greatly appreciate it .

I was caught with the dreaded ARNOVAAAAAAAAAAAAA screen last night after I'd flashed my device, and figured I'd just leave it alone til today. Â Woke up this morning, feeling a little bit cheeky I thought I'd give it one last try. Â Thing only went and booted up properly. Â It's such a blessing to finally have root access and WOW! - that 2Gb of internal storage is just amazing. Â Before on my AN10B G3, I could only have 3 games installed, today I'm installing my 30th and I've still got 1.4 Gig remaining!! Â Thank you for your wonderful guide. Â Happy days.
