After messing up my Arnova 7G3 just over 24hours ago, I'm now fully back up and running thanks to a man who, spent over 2 and a half hours remotely connected to my PC and working his fingers off to get it working again! This person is none other than @globula_neagra and he explained everything what he was doing and also put up with my accidently rebooting the device!

I didn't realise how much I missed this low end Tablet PC, as I use it on a daily basis, esoecially when I'm not in front of my PC, and also when my disability really gets the better of me, and I'm stuck in bed, I'm still able to keep in touch with friends and family, but anyway, this post is to thank this guy so much!

If anyone has a so called "Bricked" Arnova 7G3, and @globula_neagra has the time, he will try his best to fix it! I'm now running the latest stock firmware dump from the first post, and the device seems to run quicker than before!

Big thanks also to this Website and Forum, for if it wasn't for you guys, we Archos & Arnova Tablet PC owners would have to go elsewhere and have to put up with the dreaded Appslib!!

So a couple of days ago, I flashed Elvish and then the G3 ROM dump files and all went well

Unfortunately now, no apps are working, they all just force close as soon as they open

Does anyone have experience of this happening or a solution ?

I've cleared the Dalvik-cache folder and rebooted, but that didn't seem to do anything,

Any ideas would be welcome, thanks

Ive read somewhere in this forum about a fix for the disappearing internal storage problem after a factory reset ?

I can't find it anywhere, could someone link me to it please?

I reset the tablet, and now internal storage says 0.00 bytes and I can't install anything

I've tried resetting it again, but no luck

Ok, I worked out the problem, turns out "Busybox" causes the 0 bytes storage issue, making the tablet boot up in first boot welcome mode

Removed busybox via adb, reflashed the 4 images, removed busybox again normally, all is good again

I had to reflash the 4xROM images over the top to fix it from Ubuntu OS

Nothing lost, but Android storage was fixed

Im just looking for the instructions, I posted them on this site a while back after finding them originally here too

Ive just searched my drive for them and came across a text file named "Arnova Storage Error" - and it says the following:

copy the /system/xbin/busybox over /system/bin/busybox using rootexplorer which solves the issue

Note: there is an X in the first dir location of Xbin and not in the destination dir location

Give that a shot first while Im looking for the reflash instructions

You'll likely need to reboot afterwards

Found it: - These are the main reflash part of the instructions, you don't need the first half as your tablet is booting up ok and they are only for bricked tablets:

Best done in Ubuntu - Commands are the same

------

12. Start up everything on your device. Ignore all the settings for now.

13. Use your filemanager to double check directories for mounting

14. Copy the nan files to your MicroSD card and put it into your device.

15. open command prompt in windows.

16. Connect your device to your pc and set debugging on in Developer Settings on your device.

17. In command prompt go to your adb directory and type this:

    – adb device

this should show if your device is visible

then type:

adb remount

adb shell

You now have your devices terminal open in prompt

Now starts the fun part.

18. type:

cat /mnt/extsd/nanda.img > /dev/block/nanda

cat /mnt/extsd/nandb.img > /dev/block/nandb

cat /mnt/extsd/nandc.img  > /dev/block/nandc

cat /mnt/extsd/nandd.img  > /dev/block/nandd

(sometimes this takes a while for the prompt to register but wait until your # shows up before entering each command)

19. type:

sync

20. hold:

CTRL+C

21. type:

adb reboot

With section 18, you might find you need to modify the location of the files to match your device, it's been a long time since I did this but I vaguely remember having to do something like that - if you're running Ubuntu as your main OS you shouldn't have any problems working out what needs changing

Good luck

Thank you.  It worked fine with LiveSuit 1.11, elvish for A7-03 img, 15 seconds ADB installer v 1.3, Android USB drivers, NANDA.img through to NANDD.img files and the wonderful instructions given on here. :)
