Holy  Cow!

I'm glad you revived your beloved Arnova 10c G3!

Would you be kind to send me the steps to prepare a bootable SD and which files need to be put on it to boot off the Arnova???

Thanks!

I'm sorry to tell you that my post was not fully clear written. The tablet booted indeed faster with this mod at the last stage, when loading all the apps / background services that are now moved to the sd card. Before, that took so long, that it feels like nearly twice as fast.

The system itself is still stored on the internal nand storage but that didn't hang that often. It was the /sdcard (nandi) partition that hanged / lagged a lot.

This means that stock apps aren't any faster than before. Only SD-card stored apps such as my Opera Mobile browser, perform much and much better. And if you love games 16GB of storage is a must

That last scentence is not valid. If the /system partition and / or the /data partition die, the tablet is still dead. Only the death of the internal "sdcard" can now be survived.

But still, after the summer holiday, when i don't have much time to play on the tablet, it will be RMA'd.

I've also noticed a speed increase in games and apps loading, and after the little issue with a faulty "Chinese Import" 32Gb SDcard, I now have a fully working 16Gb SDCard with lots of software on my 7G3!

The mod has really given my Tablet a boost, and I don't want to go out and purchase a new one now, as it just does everything I want and need.

Hi!

Thanks for the fast feedback!

Am I bound to say farewell to my hopeful project of a special SD booting off the Arnova 7G3???  ;-(

There -might- be a way to get a bootable linux on the sd, but apps would be limited. I was hoping someone would grab an android kitchen and cook up some new roms, but without the factory image it could be difficult. Not sure how to do it from a nandroid backup. The elvish seems to work aside from rotation tho I recall some rotation mods that could be written in the build.prop to fix that? I'll try to find some links.(derailing this thread, move.)
