I have a question... If I change external micro SD to Internal SD, then will the tab recognize the internal SD as External Micro SD?
<br
If you change or just copy the altered .vold file posted in this thread then device will read micro ad sd card for internal and your internal 2gig will be your external sd card. That is the reason for changing, my AN7G3 now has an internal sd card of 32 gig and external sd card of 2 gig. Check this entire thread and download the original and altered VOLD FILE POSTED then all you have to do is copy and paste to change.
thanks bro...understood. downloaded the VOLD zip posted above.

Make sure to save a copy of the original vold FILE not only on the device but also on the computer. Just to be safe. You can copy and replace to go back and then to change again. If you should need to. Check in settings/storage after you put the altered VOLD file and reboot. You should see the change. Make sure that you reboot any time you change the vold FILE as changes take place on reboot.any

Just did the process....working fine....just had to move all files and folders from internal to external.....
Glad you got it ok, I mentioned the file moving earlier in this thread but completely forgot to tell you earlier. Glad you caught that. Same thing if you go back or switch micro sd cards. Just always copy your files. This is supposed to work with just about any android tablet, only would have to change different script on other brands/models. Good luck

When you open up es fileexplorer, look at the left top.. Click on the star and you will see Home and a picture of a phone. Click on the phone as this is the root files for your device. There you will see system folder and etc and other folders. Make sure that es file explorer has not only root checked but also up to root and mount root as read and write. See if this helps you.will

Tried this and something went wrong and I lost all available space in internal storage. The sdcard and extsd have stayed the same. Is there anyway I can get the backed up version of Vold restored onto the tablet ? All my installed apps are not accessable and I'm stuck with the stock file browser which doesn't go beyond the 'mnt' folder and as internal storage is full I'm unable to install anyother file browser. Thanks for any help
Exelletor, the Arnova 7 G3 comes rooted stock.
northernflyboy, uou'll need to use adb to run a shell (adb shell) then you'll "cd /system/etc" and rename / move back you file.
If you still need the original file, see page one on this topic I have attached the stock vold.fstab from the tablet.

The tablet is rooted. Is adb shell a built in app ?

Got the original file, just need to find a way of putting back. Is there anyway to install a new file browser directly to the sdcard ?
adb is a small piece of software installed on the tablet that listens to commands, to be sent from a command line on a remote computer. You need to install adb on the PC:
We have a tutorial here: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/devices/arnova/adb-and-fastboot-tutorial
You'll need to stop a little before the end of the tutorial, as fastboot isn't needed (and doesn't work anyway) on the Arnova 7 G3.
Adb method will surely work to fix you problem, I am less sure of other options.

Tablet is rooted out of the box. Did you install superuser, probably did as you changed the vold. File. Did you move all of the folders from internal sdcard to ext. Sdcard before changing the vold file? That is what it sounds like to me. If that is the problem then simply install es file manager from play market. Then copy all files from the 2.2 gig ext sdcard to the new internal sdcard,. That should take care of your problem
