Hello!
I bought my table in October, in December it completely stopped working. I mailed it to them and they sent me a new one. The DAY i got it back i noticed a small spot, about the size of a quarter, on my screen didnt work. Now, it just "clicks" uncontrollably! I cant play a game. i cant read a book. I cant do much of anything anymore because it is continuously tapping the screen on its own.
I have been trying to contact Arnova since I received my replacement tablet. Now what!?

Persistence. It may be a cheap throw-away device, but they need to honor the warranty. Or lose brand loyalty and return customers. Anyone have phone numbers and email contacts?
The touch screen digitizer is the capacitance type. Try cleaning it after removing the plastic screen protector film.

Mat, what steps are needed to open the 7g3's case? It's 'seamed' at the top and bottom, so do the 2 halves just clip together? If so, would you seperate them by gently prying them apart with a thin shim, working it apart from one side. Mine is working fine now, I ask because one day I'd like to be able to replace the battery when it cannot hold a reasonable charge anymore. Have searched the internet without success for a teardown video or detailed instructions for opening/repairing the 7G3. Thanks in advance...:-)Â

I've asked that myself, no answer. When I have to, I'll find a way. A replacement was sent to me under warranty- not sure arnova can open them either. By the time my battery dies, I'm sure I'll need a better tablet to run newer apps. Planned obsolescence.Â
I was going to recommend cleaning the screen with denatured alcohol, but there is probably a better solution. Alcohol is anhydrous, which means it always contains some water. Mineral spirits is about the weakest solvent, but it contains some oil. Don't use acetone, it melts plastic.Â

This is a long shot but.. I read in a post where a nexus 7 had been dropped, the touch screen cracked slightly, and was completely unresponsive. The op flashed a new rom and it got the screen working again. Maybe it reinitialized the touch screen somehow. A system reset might work if you could rotate the tablet so that the phantom presses don't interfere with getting into system to do that.

I googled "touchscreen taps by itself" and found lots of devices have this issue. Some suggestions include 'force stop' running apps like facebook, and clearing data, pulling the battery for 30 seconds, etc. It happens with apple and android devices, and no one seems to know a specific cause for the problem.
As to screen cleaning smudges on the 7g3s screen, turn off the device fitst before cleaning just to be safe. lightly dampen a microfiber eyeglass cleaning cloth, and a tiny drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid. Do not allow liquid to drip into the screen edges! Here is a link to wiki-how on how best to clean screens... http://m.wikihow.com/Clean-a-Touch-Screen
