ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
Packed with features (Boxchip Allwinner A10 CPU, overclockable to 1.1 Ghz, 1 Gb of RAM, Android 4 ICS, HDMI output, front camera) and a reasonable price ($105/99 EU/95 UKP), the Arnova 7 G3 (a Hyundai A7 clone) is missing one thing: Google Play ! Using ArcTools, our own application designed for Archos & Arnova devices, it's now possible to install Google Play and Apps in less than 5 minutes. This method uses the fact the tablet is rooted to copy the necessary system files, it is not destructive and all your existing apps and data will be preserved.
The following video illustrate the installation procedure to get Google Play on the Arnova 7 G3 and Hyundai A7.
Detailed instructions for Google Play setup on Arnova 7 G3
Step 1. Install ArcTools from Appslib
For this step, if you don't have Appslib installed, you'll need to download it from appslib.com servers, you can also download arctools.apk directly from our server and skip to Step 2.
Start Appslib, search for Arctools.
It should find "ArcTools - Google Play / Android Market & Apps installer", select the application by clicking on it.
You should get…

This worked (though I had previously used the more complicated method successfully).
Â
Only thing is, now (and since the earlier installation as well), I get a strange series of messages every time I start up the tablet:
First, I get "Complete action using []Launcher []Setup wizard", then on top of that I get "Unfortunately" (they all start that way)Â Google Partner Setup has stopped, and sometimes Talk has stopped. If I select Setup Wizard, that stops too (unfortunately).
Â
If I start it up after several hours of shutdown, I often get several other messages, which I assume are due to the WiFi connection not being up yet. If I just shutdown to reboot, I don't tend to get those.
Â
Sometimes I can't get Play Store to run unless I use arctools to clear the marketplace (I think that's the term; I think that can be done from Settings as well?).
Â
Aside from these *relatively* minor annoyances, it seems to work well. However, I'd really like to know what the problem is with the startup.
I don't know any fix for now, but that's something I'll have a look at when I'm back from holidays
Cheers.

Hi all,
Â
I just picked up my 7G3 today as a replacement for my trusty old Archos 70 IT and of course, the first thing i wanted to do was use arctools to put Play on there. Â I watched the video and everything appears to run as shown in the video but I don't get any apps installed. Â It shows the 2 file commands and the "running script" command, I reboot, but nothing.
Â
I did a factory reset and tried it again. Â No joy still.
Â
I tried the arctools download link off this site (v .70) and the one off Appslib (v .69) and I get the same result every time.
Â
I'd appreciate any ideas anyone has.

Hello,
It could be related to some recent chances that have been made in the ArcTools package. Did you get any error next to the running script lines ? I'll try to have a closer look at the issue by the week-end, I'll let you know.
Cheers.

I'm just going to run it again now (this is on v 0.69 from appslib)
Â
When I press "Install apps" it takes only about 20 seconds (much shorter than in the video) and then it displays:
Â
Installing arctools-run-script1.sh
Installing gapps-arnova7g3.tar
Running script (1)
Â
It then flashed a box at the bottom of the screen to say "sunning script" and then the donation message.
Â
Hope that's enough for you to check with.
Â
I'm happy to run any tests for you as it's brand new out of the box so I won't need to worry about losing any data
