Hi
I have a cracked screen on my AN 7 G3, does anyone know if a repair manual is available or if a replacement screen is available? Grandchild helped here. Lol and as we know, this device is too inexpensive to pay someone to repair it. A screen maybe too much also. Just wanted to check replacement as everything else works fine, even cracked. I haven't tried ARNOVA as we know how well they respond to customer questions.
Thanks for any info

Current devices.....Nabi 2, Nexus 7 32G, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7+, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket AT&T 4G, Galaxy 8.9 AT&T 4G

Hello,

While debkol35's links give an idea this will need to be adapted with the specific screen and digitizer for the Arnova 7 G3. If needed, I should be able to get some reference info from a kernel output on a live device (adb shell dmesg) or from the Arnova 7 G3 kernel sources.

As you pointed ALD3, Arnova support won't be much help in this situation and a professional repair would probably cost more than a (second hand) tablet.

In the end a possible option is to hook up a mouse on the tablet thru an USB host cable and use HDMI, that would give you a decent media player to run on a TV Wink

If you feel like replacing the 7G3 with another model, you may consider the new tablets based on RK3066 CPU, they'll cost a little more, but there's much more power (RK3066 is ARM Cortex A9, up to 1.6 GHz with Qua Mali400 GPU).

Cheers.

Thanks debkol35 and admin for your replays and suggestions.. just for fun I emailed Arnova support and as figured no reply. The lack of support by Arnova bothers me more than the quality of their devices. I knew it was a cheap low end device when I bought it. Have read where many other similar devices have great support. Guess I will continue playing with the AN 7 G3 till the display dies. I do have other devices, so lucky there.

FYI
Finally heard back from Arnova and sounded like a REAL Company and support

We would need to set you up with an RMA to have the unit sent in for repairs. However, as cracks in the screen are not covered under the warranty this would be an out of warranty repair with a cost to the repairs. The estimated cost of this repair is $37.50 for the parts, labor, and shipping.

In order for us to setup an RMA for your Arnova product, please reply to this e-mail with all of the following information:

Name Address City State/Province Zip/Postal code Phone Product name Storage Size Serial number Brief desc. of problem

Thank you, Andrew H
