Hey Everyone,

I've owned my Arnova 7G3 now since receiving it as a present from the wife at Christmas, and after installing the Google Play Store etc, and making it see the 32Gb MicroSD as internal memory, I'm actually impressed with it, but what's been bugging me is the fact that the Time Zone is greyed out and you cannot select it. I know there's a work around, which I've currently done by using ClockSync, but I'm one of these users that would rather not use 3rd Party apps to do a job that the device should do out of the box.

So about 20 minutes ago, I made a phone call to Arnova, and asked them about a new Firmware for this model, and the person I was talking to couldn't find the Arnova 7G3 on there system after he asked me to download the firmware for it!! He has taken my email address and phone number so they can get back in touch with me about a solution and possible firmware update.

As soon as I hear anything, I shall put it in this Forum to let everyone know what they're going to be doing for us, I know it's wishful thinking, but it would be nice to have an official Jelly Bean release, but hey ho!!!

Hope to be the bringer of some news soon......

If you'd like to, it would be interesting for the other users that you put the phone number you got for Arnova support, you can append it to existing post for Archos contact info.

I cannot find Append or Edit on that page, but here's the number I rang for the UK Arnova Tech - 0906 213 24 67

In October 2012 Arnova support'also told me via email that the date problem is a firmware issue. Until a new firmware update is put out the time/date needs to be performed manually by the user. So, probably won't happen until JellyBean or better update.

To my amazement, I've just had a phone call from Archos/Arnova and they say that there's currently no firmware update for this device (erm, you don't say!!) but my technical issue has now been passed to the developers, and hopefully??? in the near future a firmware update for this device will become available.

It's got enough grunt for both Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie, but it's just a waiting game now to see if they come up with the goods.  Maybe more 7G3 users should contact Arnova about this, as it may make them sit up and do something?

Sorry it wasn't positive news yet.....
