Quick question for the Arnova 7 G3 owners: is the video player the same as on the MPMan MID74c ? (Super-HD Player)

It is at least called that and the screen shots at the MPMan MID74c look the same. So, I'm guessing yes.

Ok thanks, it's probably the default player for Boxchip Allwinner A10 based devices.

I did test it a bit, quite a good player actually.

Yes it is. It played several .avi files that my Archos 80 G3 made me pay extra to get to play.

Interesting...

I'll get the APK out my MPman, will probably require some .lib as well.

Can you check the attached Gallery2.apk file, that's probably the video player app, as there is no Gallery app on my tablet.

If that's not the case, I'll have a second look for the apk later...

Cheers.

Hey lohtse,

I have just double checked in Dalvik Debug Monitor, the Gallery app I have attached is actually the video player, package name is  package="com.android.gallery3d"

It would be great if you have a few minutes to try it and confirm if it works or not.

You should get something similar to that (from the MPMan MID74c, another Allwinner A10 based device) :

Identical to the one on the 7G3 even asks to over write it etc..

I just never noticed all those LOVELY options!!!!

It's a great little player but still not able to play all files which is it's let down...Where as MX Player pro with codex is far better as a result of not as yet failing to play and files I have.....

Not bad for a stock player and best one yet that I have seen on any device..

I agree ,the MX player is best to have on any device. I use it on my galaxy tab also as there are a few files the stock video player won't play. One of the most important to me is windows .WMV , MX player is great for wmv videos. Install the apk and it will tell you if it needs a codex and take you to the market for free download.

Current devices.....Nabi 2, Nexus 7 32G, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7+, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket AT&T 4G, Galaxy 8.9 AT&T 4G

HD Video player (music) tracks are not displayed in an A-Z order + artist name not displayed/viewable, file cabinet A-Z is split into little batches rather than one long list.

I had to download Real Player Beta (Appslib) & add the artist name to the video track name (rename via PC card reader) so I now have the tracks by artist in A-Z order!!!!!
