A poll for you all
In these days I'm testing the EX and Go Launcher and and it works really well ...
What do you think if you add with Launcher by default?

I'm totally new to Linux so can someone explain what advantages I would get from the new EXT4 added in  the new ROM? Cheers.

EDIT* Never mind - I did a bit of research and found this short article which says that EXT4 will improve performance. That's reason enough for me to update.

🙂

I don't know if it's the Placebo effect but my tab definatly feels quicker with this new ROM. Especially scrolling menus (Market for example) it's pulling the images in quicker. Very impressed. Thanks for the great work!

The newest version is running great so far although I am still only restoring apps at this point.

If ext4 is a better file system should we also format our SD cards using that format or just stay with fat32?

I would just leave the launcher as is and allow users to download whichever launcher they prefer to use. I really like Go launcher EX but I have tried ADW as well and it is fine too.

So does this mean the CPU isn't slowing down on standby etc? I've noticed the battery seems to run out a bit quicker but it's not too bad.

Will do that because the battery ran out quickly today without much use (it was on but in standby). I'll post tomorrow.

Battery problem is due to CPU clock.......Always of 1008MHz

In this kernel  missing all power saving and clock management modules.

I've rebuilt a new kernel, but I miss LCD drivers and Arnova not respond to my emails : (

I don't  want  open the tablet and lose the warranty ...

We are in stall

I have spent some time trying to research the LCD panel on our tablets at pdadb.net and gsmarena.com and it seems I can only find the resolution and size. It seems to me there must be some sort of app for rooted users to discover what components are in their devices. On my PC I have "Speccy" which allows me to see who made (Imean really manufactured) each component. Could you do a system dump to find the drivers? I was looking around using Root Browser but do not know what folder to look in to find information about the drivers.

I think I will put the question on Rootzwiki and see what I can find out.

Fenice,
Before we get hold on the 7G2 screen info, you may want to try it for 10G2, I believe the Arnova 10 G2 has the same screen than the Archos 101 IT (LCD Touch Screen CHI MEI N101L6-L02) which is documented here: http://www.arctablet.com/blog/archos-tablet/inside-archos-101-internet-tablet/

This still needs to be confirmed, as I am just judging by the look of the screen, that has a similar surface and exhibits the same patterns (dots and diagonal lines for the touchpanel). The users that opened their Arnova 10G2 may be able to confirm.

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-10-g2-general/hdmi-on-arnova-10-g2/

Also need to know that on the 101 IT the screen is mounted upside down, apparently to get better viewing angles

Archos GPL'ed source code for Gen8 device is here: http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates_gnu.html

Hello,

This thread seemed appropriate to post a question/problem about one particular problem, which occurred after I installed the new ROM from fenice57 (nevertheless an excellent job by him)

Some apps, which use a fixed/locked “portrait” screen position (for example – a game “ Air Penguin” or “aTilt 3D Labyrinth (while playing, not in the menu)) are now “up-side down” – the bottom of the app is now on the side of the tablet, where the camera is. Not much of a problem to look or to hold the tablet, but the in-game movements, controlled by the accelerometer are now inverted (and some apps doesn’t let you manually invert the x,y, axis). As a quick search in the android settings did not find a way to adjust the accelerometer, so my question – is this “inconvenience” a result of the new ROM? (as the Arnova stock android didn’t have this problem)

Thank you in advance for your replies

P.S. It seems that Settings>Display>Brightness bar does not have any direct influence to the actual brightness of the screen

-----------

Probably ROM bug during APP interaction / System
I'll study for remove it

Settings>Display>Brightness    ->  Bad/old kernel modules, no way ( at the moment )
