Please help

i have 2 of these devices 1 for my daughter and 1 for me.

the problem i have is that my daughters build number is 1.0.4.gingerbread.eng.root.20111027.165942

and mine is sdkdemo2.3.1 eng.20110624.094730

please can anybody tell me the difference between these and why they are different.

mine also has a battery use item

my daughters dosent

please help

If both device are identical, the firmware difference could come from the manufacturer that update their devices as they produce them. Both tablets probably came from a different product batch and have different firmware. Arnova does not produce a changelog for their device update, so we can hardly tell the difference.

 

Still, it seems there is quite a date difference between the two, hopefully Arnova will publish their 7G2 latest firmware someday, so everybody could have their device updated.

One day after this post, the arnovatech.com web site announced the new firmware version (2011.12.13) which is newer than either of your machines so you could bring them both up to the same date by downloading the .img file.

Don't worry about the lack of a battery indicator on one of them - there are plenty of free battery widgets in the market. The one I use, called quite simply Battery Widget by Elvison, gives a % charge indicator in the upper bar, and when used as an app, gives a lot more detail.
