I'm new here. Love the site and all of the info. I purchased three 7G2s for my kids for Christmas. Two of them work flawlessly but the third has been a pain in the butt. Many of the apps downloaded go straight to the SD card. When the unit is powered off then on again the apps are not recognized by the 7G2. If I do an app search they show up on the SD card however they don't look the same. I have to delete and reinstall them. I have found that the only way for an app to remain useable is to have it stored on the device memory. I know that the SD card is good (not corrupted) because photos, music, etc. are all just fine.
Has anyone run into this? Any fixes? I have emailed Arnova tech support and hope to have an answer back tomorrow. I tried to stay on hold with their tech support but my patience on the day after Christmas wasn't all that great. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So I finally got in touch with Archos tech support. After asking the standard questions I was given an RMA. I sent the unit back to the Archos warranty hub outside of Chicago. It should take about 2 days to get it there. I was told the process should take 10 - 15 days for assessment, repair and/or replacement. I'll keep you all posted.
I bought my Arnova 7 G2 one week ago, for several times i got the message "SD Card removed" usually while i'm not using the tablet. Sometimes i need to reboot until i see all the applications.
My SD Card is a Kingston 8Gb Class 4.
I send an email 2 days ago to Arnova tech support and i got this answer:

Support Technique Arnova."
By your description, we conclude that your device must be repaired.
Contact your dealer for information on how to repair the unit.
I'm not too convinced it's anything to do with the SD Card, as this also happens to apps stored on the internal partion, not the Apps partition. You can test this by moving an app to the SD without having a SD card inserted. If there is a way we could force the system to rescan apps on both the Apps partition and then flash partition/SD card then that could be better than moving an app over and back again. Also I noted on the rooted Gingerbread ROM by finless and Bob that when such apps were apparently missing, moving an app to the SD card would force the tablet to reboot, with your apps on the flash/SD card being accessible again. (It took a few goes though, with mixed results)
I'm using a 16GB sandisk Micro SD HC card with my tablet, which is working well.

Yes it happens with both stock and finless rom. I noticed that the apps that are not on sd card are the ones that stop working. They are also greyed out in manage applications. I then have to move other apps to and from sd and phone memory to get them to work again. It happens every couple days. It happens with multiple sd cards 4-8-16 32 class 4 and class 10 cards makes no difference.
