To doman75.
Thanks a million!
For the first time this product becomes usable, even the Google play store works with this custom firmware.
Easy to install:
1.Unpack the an10dg3.zip.
2.Copy the catalog "FirmwareInstall" to the root of an micro sd card.
3.Copy the file "wmt_scriptcmd" to the root of the same micro sd card.
4.Turn off the Arnova Tablet, put in the micro sd card.
5.Connect the Arnova Tablet to a power outlet.
6.Turn on the Arnova Tablet and the installation starts automaticly
7.Take out the micro sd card when the instructions on the tablet says so, it will reboot.
8.Profit!

Hi guys! I'm new to this forum and ended up here when I was looking for a solution for the Google Play compatibilty. Of all three offered solutions, this was the only one that worked. The official way of updating the firmware did not work at all, as did copying the files to the root of the tablet. When the tablet started, it would not automatically install the files and with the manual mode, the tablet was not able to recognize an upgrade file. No matter if it was on the tablet or the SD card. But the method in the quote worked perfectly! I can now not only open Google Play, but use it as well!
Still the only problem: how to install apps to the external SD card... oh well...

2012/12/27

Does anyone know how to install apps to the external sd without them disappearing when the tablet goes flat or reboots?
Edit: Does anyone know? Both tablets are the same. Both have been rooted and had the custom firmware flashed onto it thats posted in this thread. Both have link2sd installed. Both have excatly the same settings. However one looses most its apps when it goes flat/turns off/reboots. But the other one keeps them. THis has baffled me totally and makes no sense at all!

Sorry to post again but this is starting to annoy me. Both tablets have been flashed the same but the error only happens with one of them.
I have now installed titanium backup, have backed up the apps and turn then tablet back off then on. The apps have disappeared but the icons remain on the screen as before. No I am trying to use titanium to restore the apps but it comes up with "there is a problem parsing the package" error. So does anyone know whats going on?
My tablet is fine its just the second one (my brothers) that has this problem. Both tablets are identical however I have noticed that on google play it lists one as wondermedia 8850-mid and the other as wondermedia AND10DG3 but not sure why.
If no one can help me can someone point me to somewhere/someone that can.

The download keeps failing but would it work on the tablet? I still haven't been successful in restoring to the original firmware but going to just try flashing the tablet again to see if that solves the problem. I keep getting the red triangle when trying to put the original firmware back on.

If anyone has found the original firmware and can install like custom firmware please let me know. I Dont urgently need it cos thanks to tekilakos i have updated to W10-GOTAB-4.1-1226.zip in his last post. Its better than custom firmware on page one because the play store is in the menu so you can delete it from the home screen. Just been nice to have original firmware incase i need to sell tablet for a better one.

You can download the latest firmware for the "Arnova g3 10d" from this link http://arnovatech.com/support/firmware/3/arnova10dg3/121031/ARNOVA_10d_G3_20121031.zip
Copy the content of the zip file to the "root" folder of an sd card
Start your tabled into recovery mode ,press the volume down button and the power button at the same time ,hold it till it start in recovery.
Follow the instructions on screen and it should re-install the latest firmware/os.
