(see contribution here: /blog/ask/467/android-will-not-boot-and-cannot-restore-previous-firmware#a468)"
I did the update at the above link for the 10b. Result was that my wifi stopped working (connect/disconnect over and over) and I could no longer access my Arnova from my computer through the USB cable.
Therefore, I am unable to copy the original update back to my device in order to flash back to standard software.
Tried the "cannot restore" info link above and it does not work. What was a USB drive connect under original software is now two drives in explorer neither of which can be accessed. I can remove them in Windows and plug in the Arnova but the same two non-functioning "drives" appear in Windows.
Any way to flash using a memory stick. How do I remove the arctablet update.img and replace with old update.img when I can no longer access my Arnova as a drive?
4 hours on this and no luck. thanks for help.
First thing to check is make sure you have read how to mount a disk on Froyo firmware, as the procedure is a little different than previous Android 2.1 system.
See section "Mounting Arnova 10b on your PC / turning ON USB Storage" on
Other option, if the tablet is still functionnal, is copying the update.img to the root directory of your sdcard and inserting the card into the tablet should get the update dialog to show. (it may also prompt for the update after a tablet reboot)
If all this fails, you can try Rockchip Flashing tools:
