I have been trying to set up ad hoc support on my 10b tablet but the "wpa_supplicant"  file (v5) will not stay in system/bin after reboot.

I think it has something to do with NAND protection but I cannot seem to find much on this topic anywhere..

been searching/installing root aps/tried the froyo update, etc but to no avail...

busybox and su files are the only filew which seem to have succesfully installed to system/bin, so there must be a way around NAND..

anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Joe

Which firmware are you using ?

Most Arnova firmwares have /system mounted on CRAMFS (readonly) filesystem.

Hi,

The firmware version is 3.6

build: eclair 18 july 2011.

think the system/bin is tmpfs this is temporary file system right? so the files are loaded into ram on reboot? from recovery or somewhere like that?

Thanks

Joe

On recent Arnova models, the system directory is on a cramfs file system. The only way to modify it is to build a custom firmware image from the modified files/directories and update the firmware on the tablet.

I'll try to have a look in modifying the firmware for adhoc support in next custom firmware release for the Arnova 10b.

Not sure if there is the appropriate support in the Kernel tough.

Both programs were "burnt" into the system image while preparing the firmware.

The procedure is explained in the link from my previous message.
