ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !
Just a quick test ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) v5.5.0.4 on an Arnova 10b G3.
The CWM port on RK2918 tablet is done by ChristianTroy (androidiani.com) and is originaly designed for the Mediacom Smartpad 810c.
Â
Recovery mode is activated with Vol+ and Power buttons.
Some CWM functions work (wipe cache, backup image to local storage), I haven't tested much yet.

Thanks Jim for the props!

I now have a fully working CWM for Arnova 10G2 with everything working. You will find Christians does not fully work on Arnova. Some things had to be changed because we do not have a external SDcard mount. Something I think I can fix later so we have BOTH a SDcard and ext_sdcard even booted into the OS. Something Arnova did screwy. If you put data on internal /sdcard and then later plug in a physical sdcard, all the stuff that was on the "internal" sdcard is missing. So to really enjoy the full experience, we need to totally change how Arnova mounts the SDcard(s). I am still working on that.
Â
Anyway, Christians work and the work the Cube 9Gt guys did here:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/32735-clockworkmod-recovery-for-cube-development/
Helped me a to understand how to get it working on Arnova's!

P.S. Thank you very much for your new way of doing things 🙂
I also would KISS to have a dump of your 10b G3 🙂
I have a question. How do you install this recovery onto an arnova 10b g3? I've tried renaming it to update.img but no luck. Please tell me a good alternative.
Thanks in advance

Get the tablet in flashing mode and then flash`it, either use adb where you need to find out the mtd, and then re-write the kernel, and recovery partition, tough you already have all the files that you need to flash via rockchip

All those CWM links from first post are gone for me, when I try click them from first post (google chrome):
Original download links:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1d051eyyvv6rnp5Â Â (binary, cwm_v5.5.0.4-no_datamedia.rar)

-----------
mediafire links give me text: "Invalid or Deleted File."Â
arctablet.com links give me: "Security error(6)  error logged, system administrator has been notified" when I press the main download's link or I try download the CWM from mirror site by clicking the link.
Looks like that when I try copy/paste the url to url field of google chrome, then the arctablet.com links works fine.

Read this which offers some explanations regarding the flashing modes
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/archos-arnova-general/possible-fixes-and-repair-methods-for-your-rockchip-tablet/
And also this to find out how to flash a firmware
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/arnova-10b-g3-custom-firmware-android-4-1-jb-root-space-apps-pip/
The general idea is that the flashing procedure is the same like in flashing the firmware.

globula_neagra thanks for replying.
Yep I know how to flash and did have the jellybean on my tablet but because of the problem having to keep the power supply connected to it to get it to boot, I reverted back to ICS.Â
Like I said I downloaded the files for the clockworkmod. When I tried to install via the flash method it could red the file. I've tried renaming it to update.img but no luck.
I can help you. I haven't tried flashing clockworkmod to my tab yet. ( I realised I don't need clockworkmod but read on anyway) But all you have to do is turn your tablet off, then hold the plus volume button and the power button simultaneously, until you see the arnova logo. After a while, a green, dead android with a red icon within it will appear. From there, you again hold the power with the plus button for approximately 5 seconds, but you will notice an android system recovery come on the screen. ( You also get to do factory reset, e.t.c. This is why I didn't install clockworkmod as this works just fine aswell.) Now all you have to do is navigate through your way to find update image from sd card. Then find your recovery image then flash it through there. BEWARE, do not hold me responsible for your tablet mistakes. If it works, then congratulations, you have successfully flahed clockworkmod onto your tablet!
Don't forget to thank me if i helped!
Kind Regards,
TheSonic892
