Android won't connect to adhoc networks by default. There are ways of doing it, but it involves rooting your device and modifying some settings.

First flashing this custom firmware will give you root access to the 10b G3, so you are able to modify system files.

Then, I think you need to edit the wpa_supplicant.conf with a dedicated application or a text editor.

I've never done that before, but that should give you some hints on what to search on Google Wink

Here is /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf content:

update_config=1
ctrl_interface=wlan0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
fast_reauth=1

There is some wlan related firmware in /system/etc/firmware, not sure of what you need as wifi driver.

Cheers.

back up your wpa spulicant from system/bin
add this new suplicant http://www.mediafire.com/?fxzddsb2e6s54zq
set the permisions, and test it.

i asked about the drivers, because some suplicants are personalized.

Download this http://www.arctablet.com/users/forum/FileExpertLatest.apk

FILE EXPERT, this is the last free version that has root explorer and mounting options (in market these options are available now, only on the paid version )
Do not update this
then, activate from settings, root explorer, mount the system read and write
you do not need to open the file, you just need to copy it in system/bin and set the old permissions from the old wpa supplicant.

I REPEAT, IT IS NOT AN APP, JUST COPY IT IN SYSTEM/BIN AND SET PERMISSIONS
and test it

Done this and still can't find hot spot? Should I be able to find it with a scan?
Or will I need to enterit maually?
When you say mount the system read ad write? Do you mean owner permison?

Thanks gordon

well, if you did everything right, and the suplicand does not work, then you should google for other ics supplicants, and maybe you will find one that works, it is a trial and error thing, few devices with ics have the ad hoc available.
It is a option in file expert to mount the system as read only, or read and write, i told you to do this, because i don`t know what file system uses the 10b g3.

The 10b G3 with our custom firmware is in ext3 fs, mounted writable in the boot, so the file copy thru File Expert should be no problem, provided you accept the SuperSU request to grant root access rights.
