Hello,

i can't install 64 version, cd don't start now.

i follow the 5 steps of your guid, at the end, in step 5, the 2 last code with the terminal don't work, maybe because i used 32 version, the tablette is invisible for ubuntu, only see by the terminal, but no access to the disc or manage the mode recovery, if it work, what is the action ? can i put a good update.img on the tablette ? can i start the recovery mode ?

now, i little tired, i work to install a ubuntu 12-04 in 64 version and restart all your guid where i understand 10%

On the Arnova the recovery mode (which is the dead android with exclamation mark on it) is accessible for the user, it is used only by the tablet when you upgrade/reset the tablet to a factory state.

The only way to get you tablet back working is either use a key combination or adb to get the tablet in flashing mode, so you can re flash it.
You said that the key combination does not work, the adb method remains the only choice, fallowing my guide should get your tablet in flashing mode, After you get the tablet in flashing mode you should use windows and rockchip tools to restore your tablet.
As i allready specified, use RESTORE, not upgrade.

it is like this
after you install all the stuff that i already talked about the commands that you should issue in terminal are :

lsusb

gksudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules

sudo chmod a+r /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules

Now go to the Home directory and press CTRL H and search for the folder .android, go there and open adb_usb.ini and add
0x0e79 (you wil add 0x18d1)
Save the file
Restart the computer and check in terminal

adb devices

have a look also here http://dimitar.me/how-to-connect-your-android-phone-to-ubuntu-to-do-developmenttestinginstallations-or-tethering/

You don`t need the step 4, from what i remember that is for firmware building.

yannick@blackpc:~$ adb devices
bash: /home/yannick/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

it's "18d1" for me, i put "0x18d1" in adb_usb.ini ?

and in rules it's
#Google
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1", MODE="0666"

slowly but surely i begin to understand the base,

i can check the bus with "lsusb", find the device with "adb devices"

i must configue 1 file and make a rule,

in "adb_usb.ini" i put 0x(IDvendor for me is 18d1)

because i see Bus 001 Device 003: ID 18d1:d001 Google Inc.

and in rule i write
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1", MODE="0666"

good thinking or i wrong ? because

yannick@blackpc:~$ adb devices
bash: /home/yannick/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

Help...

i want to believe but winter is coming !

you either cd to where is adb

or add these

After you finish you will include the path environment of ANDROID SDK
-go to your home folder and press CTRL H (this will enable you to so the hidden files)
- open the file .bashrc file and add the fallowing at the end
# Android tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/bin
-open the .profile file and add at the end the fallowing PATH="$HOME/android-sdk-linux/tools:$HOME/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools:$PATH"

the rest of the stuff that you written above are right.

Hi,
1. tablette is connecting with green android with exclamation mark
2. lsusb : Bus 001 Device 003: ID 18d1:d001 Google Inc.
3. in "adb_usb.ini" i put "0x18d1"
4. in ".bashrc" i put
# Android tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/bin
5. in ".profile file" i put PATH="$HOME/android-sdk-linux/tools:$HOME/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools:$PATH"
6. in gksudo gedit /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules i put SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="18d1", MODE="0666"
7. yannick@blackpc:~$ adb devices
bash: /home/yannick/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

it’s not working

I see that in adb_usb.ini it’s good ?
# ANDROID 3RD PARTY USB VENDOR ID LIST -- DO NOT EDIT.
# USE 'android update adb' TO GENERATE.
# 1 USB VENDOR ID PER LINE.
0x18d1

what can i do now ? am i in the big shit ?

thank you

Hello,

With a friend we find a parad... when i start with reset + button start + button "+", after 15 seconds i stop to press ans rapidly i press again button start ans button "+", and eureka, Android system recovery start, then i have "recovery system from backup", arnova restart with usine firmware.

After that i make experience and want install uptade.img with "update rkimage from sdcard", i can't install kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G.zip, after, i fallow the step but with "Rockchip Flashing tool", the arnova tablett don't mount in "connected devices".

"After Rockchip flasher has transferred the custom firmware to the tablet" hum... it's easy at the reading.

When i arrived to Android recovery i have :

- reboot

- apply update from external storage

- wipe data/factory reset

- wipe cache partition

- apply update from cache

- recovery system from backup

- update rkimage from /sdcard

Do you know how Rockchip Flashing tool can see the tablett ?

Have a good day,

rork
