Folks, just to help out in understanding the sdcard thing.  This is a very common problem as part of evolution of Android OS.  How Gingerbread implemented sdcard and how honeycomb and ICS do it is very different and in the process some apps break as they do not know about external_sdcard vs internal.

This post here on XDA explains it well:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21891125&postcount=8

Then some people have fixed it by SWAPPING the mounts for internal vs external.  See the fix here.  Some gys have tried this and it appears to work.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383330

On Gingerbread you only had one sdcard mount.  If you put something on internal sdcard (before you put in a external one) and look at the files there, then plug in a external sdcard, all the files that you had on internal are missing.  This is because it's one mount and the external card takes over the internal card mount.  So basically any internal NAND memory that was allocated to internal is now "missing" and unusable while you have a external card plugged in.  If you remove the card, the files you had on internal now show up again.

So, for honeycomb (some anyway) and ICS they are changing that to have 2 mounts.  And in theprocess it is causing all kinds of issues.  Again try the fix of swapping the mounts  it seems to be the happy medium.

Now on V 4.1.  Much easier to install with my experience of v4.0Tried to install Argos and got the same message as you.  Didn't try anymore as the footie started.

Wanted to watch football on catchuptv but like I am experiencing with BBC iplayer the picture keeps stopping, buffering then playing at fast forward, stops then buffering again.  Are there any settings I can adjust to remedy this?

I have tried reading up on this next (potential) issue but would need a degree in programming to understand the links I have found.  Final question can anybody explain in laymans terms what SuperSU is and would unistalling this have an effect.  It appears to have reinstalled itself.

Your tablet now has root access & therefore superSU stops any app gaining access to root, depending on superSU settings you should get a request through superSU asking to grant/deny an app access when requested. I used it when I was testing various 'move2sd' apps that required root access.

Hope this helps.

SuperSU is an update of SuperUser program, it helps controlling the access to root on the machine; so you can give programs full access to your device to modify the configuration for specific needs.

It should be no problem to uninstall SuperSU, but it should be really necessary considering it uses no ressources and takes very little space on the tablet. It's not opening any security risks as YOU are the one giving or denying root access to programs thru SuperSU.

Cheers.

Guys, I'll be checking the Move to SDcard issue soon. Also, I'll make another firmware build that increases the /data space so more applications can be installed on the machine.

Cheers.

Tested on the Anova 10b G3.
Works OK, but the auto screen rotation doesn't work anymore.
Does anyone know an solution?
Is very frustrating to miss the horizontal way of working.
Only portret mode.
Switching under settings on an off doesn't have any effect.

BTW.
Didn't get my arnova flashing mode with powersupply connected.
USB cable connected to PC (Win 7-64 with Rockchip Flashing tool running)

My way:
1. Push and hold Vol.+ button
2. Push reset button for 15 seconds
3. Release reset button (hold vol.+)
4. Release vol.+ button 1 second later.

Rockchip Flashing tool recognizes the tablet,
start upgrading.

Powersupply can be connected at that moment.

Goodmorning,

I need your help. I bought an ARNOVA 10b G3 4GB on Friday, and since Saturday I keep on trying to upgrade it with the firmware mentioned above. Everything seems to be done correctly, but when it comes the time for the TOUCH SCREEN CALIBRATION, touch is frozen. I have tryied it with two different pc. Please help me out, because I do not know what to do.

Hello.
Which Arnova 10b G3 model do you have, do it says capacitive or resistive (DT or Dual Touch) on the box ? Did you buy it online, do you have a link for the product ?
We'll need to check, but it can be that you have a resistive model that uses a different touchscreen, which prevents the tablet to work after the flash. If that's the case, we can probably fix it once we get a firmware dump of the resistive model...

As I said, we'll try to get a dump and prepare a custom firmware for the resistive model, so you need to wait for it (it's probably a matter of a few days) to get the screen working again ... or take back the tablet to the shop.

If you have an OTG micro USB cable, you can maybe plug an USB mouse on the tablet to control it... just to make you wait before you are able to fix it with the resistive firmware.

I've updated the custom firmware page with a warning about the firmware works only with capacitive models, I hope it will help other users.

Cheers.
