ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

The Arnova 8b G3 and 10b G3 have different hardware, at least for the screen and probably touch panel, so they should run different kernels. Please, don't update your Arnova 8b G3 with a 10b G3 firmware, you'd probably brick it. You'll need wait for a 8b G3 custom firmware to be available, expect one in the coming weeks.
Cheers.

Thanks to Excellator for the instructions on driver install. I really am a techno biff but am now the proud owner of a Play Store app on my 10b G3 (in the UK). So truely anyone can do it. Patience is the key. Some experiences I had I would like to share; In preparation I noted the build standard so I had the correct driver in mind Win 7 32Bit.
Placed the update from the Kasty file on the desktop.
Chose the correct size pin for the reset hole (you can feel a rocker depress whilst entering recovery/flashing mode).
Changed the device installation settings as descibed in the trouble shooting section of the Rockchip Flasher Tool.
Followed the instructions, but every time I tried to enter recovery with the tablet off it started coming on. Therefore as others had done I tried it whilst on, saw the volume go up as the + vol key was depressed then inserted the pin and low and behold the screen went blank after several seconds. At the same time saw a pop up on screen that told me a USB device wasn't recognised. Went into device manager and found an unrecognised device but this wasn't under the USB's but elsewhere highlighted with a little yellow triangle then proceeded to load the driver . Didn't work the first time as I had unloaded the driver to my desktop but the drver search only went as far down as folders not files. Placed the driver back inside the folder and tried again and asked it to load from the driver folder; lo and behold it started loading.
After a little jig of appreciation (was this premature?) I continued to follow the instructions. Download started and finished minutes later, tablet sparked into life and having gone through all the custom set up on the Arnova there it was the "Grail" - Play Store. Downloaded the Mrs's fave TV app and the whole expense of the purchase was justified as I had promised her.
Apologies if this was simplistic but that's me. But if I could say thanks to (if you can use this term in a friendly way) the geeks out there who developed this firmware update.
With regard to Gouranga well theres over 110 years between us. A challenge to you young uns if ever I saw one
.

If you download the Rockchip Flasher Tool from, and then follow the instructions for using it, on the Rockhip Flashing Tool page (http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/flashing-arnova-g2-rockchip-2918-rockchip-flashing-tool/), which is linked to in the original article then there is not an .iso file in sight.
Not sure where you have downloaded from or which page you are reading, but you need to go back to the start and follow the installation instructions step by step - if you skip steps or install the wrong thing you risk bricking your tablet.
The Rockchip Flasher Tool downloads as a .zip file - open that and there is the .exe file you run plus a folder called drivers.

Hopefully, we'll try to make one when we get access to an Arnova 7b G3 or someone provides us a firmware dump.

Sneds, The driver was contained in the Rockchip download folder. On installing the driver I had to direct the win7 dialouge box towards that particular folder. I am with dlicence in that you need to ensure you are following the instructions (very uñmanly Ill admit) and that you have the right rockchip tool. As for it being an iso file I have no idea what the implication would be. Sorry I can't help more!
Testers needed for latest custom firmware update, please check here
ThanksÂ

Glad you finally made it.
I am just curious what which part of the instruction you missed and eventually need to be clarified ?
Cheers.

Mate the part with the reset and vol+ did not work at all for my tablet, so i had to go into devices and printers and find the unknown device and go into the drivers and manually update them and load win7 driver into rockchip for it to recognise it and it was done in 5 mins after that.
Â
many thanks for help much appreciatedÂ

I am going crazy here maybe someone can help?
Â
I have an Arnova 10 b G3 and trying to upload the most recent firmware to it.
Â
I have managed to download the firmware and uzip it so I have the IMG file
Â
I also have downloaded and unzipped the RockChip Flasher programme.
Â
Where my problem lies in that I can load up the IMG file into the RockChip programme but when I plug my tablet into my netbook it doesnt seem to recognise the tablet is there i.e. nothjing shows in the 1 2 3 etxc boxes to show that it has been plugged in.
Â
I am getting really upset and frustrated by this.
Â
Can anyone offer me some advice please? Thanks
