Hi all

I've just flashed my tablet and i've the Arnova screen freeze problem...i've tried every method and Arnova persist :(

This is every steps i've done :

1-Download Rokchip Batch Tool on my computer (Win7 64) and launch it

2-Donwload the rom from Arnova site

3-Shutdown tablet and plug on charger

4-Plugin USB on PC

5-Press + sound button

6-Plugin USB on tablet

7-Install Win7 64 drivers

8-I see the number 1 in green on Rockchip and release sound button

9-Find Firmware fils : update.img

10-Click on Upgrade

At the end of Firmware Download and Firmware Checked the tablet reboot it's wrting :

Formating /date
Formating /cache
Formating /mnt/SDCard
Reboot

Then it reboot and Arnova appear one time for 10-15sec then black screen less than 2sec and finally Arnova again and freeze.

And next i've tried the solution which i found here :(

Help me please ^^

Hi guys, please help!

After updating the firmware (I did it via microSD, which now seems to have been a bad idea) I've got the stuck on boot problem. I haven't been able to boot at all since despite trying the waiting to plug in power thing at all different intervals and since I can't actually get into the OS I can't downgrade or change the firmware. Very concerned it might be bricked, is there any other advice to help me at least boot up?

Hi all.

Ive flashed this and has the same problem.

easy way past it is as follows

Flash as normal and tablet will reboot and get stuck on arnova screen.

unplug usb and power cable

use pin and reset the tablet in the reset hole by the sc card slot.

arnova will pop up and after about 10 seconds arnova title will flash off and on,

Now count to 10 and plug in charger. screen backlight will illuminate and the tablet boots fine

has to be done like this every boot!

I stumbled accross a fix for the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G" by replacing /system/framework/services.jar with the one I attached below. This is from NEOCM's battery fix.  Strangely enough this will fix the battery issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".

After using the trick of unplugging the power cable and reseting with a paperclip then plugging the power cable back in at the second ARNOVA screen, simply replace /system/framework/services.jar and your home free.

You will need a root enabled browser and overwrite /system/framework/services.jar with this one and you will instantly be forced to reboot.  From then on I have had no boot issues with "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".  I also tested on "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and it does fix the battery issue as well.

Please test for yourself.

Thanks mscgeek, works a treat on the 1_5g version. Perhaps Admin will change the file in the firmware to save others from having this battery issue.

Sounds like some nice suggestions and at least some people are having some luck! None for me unfortunately.

If I try and switch it on without power plugged in the Arnova screen flashes for just a few seconds then it goes black and doesn't come back on. I've left it charging for over an hour to make sure there's enough power. Only way to keep it on is to boot with power, but then it just freezes on the screen.

Would love to get this working again. I did update the firmware via microSD as I read some people having joy with that, perhaps it's why mine doesn't behave like others?

Is there anything else I can do such as a complete factory reset of all the software or something? Anything just to get it to boot up so I can run these fixes.

Thanks a lot mcsgeek Wink

I currently don't have my Arnova 10b G3, but I'll rebuild a firmware in a few days when I get access to my tablet again.

Cheers.

Well it works for most who have tested, of course there are no gaurantees when working with custom ROMs.  Also, I forgot to mention that not only do you need a rooted browser, but you must also remount /system as rw first, or it won't work (some rooted browsers do this for you automatically and some have a button to remount /system rw, and some do not have either).

You could try remounting /system as rw.  Some rooted browsers (not all) can remount /system as rw or you can download an app like "Mount system rw" from Google Play.
