The Windows 8 fix for Rockchip drivers installation was given some time ago in another section:
Regarding development of this firmware, just slowed down with firmwares for other devices, should get back on the Arnova 10b G3 soon. I'll post when there are some updates.

Hi i just tried that, however i now get this error
"The software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available."
EDIT: FIXED!! Upgrading now, fingers crossed!
I've successfully flashed and updated my Arnova 10b G3 (4gb) with the kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G update but I'm having the frozen boot problems described by other after completely powering off. The only solution I've found is to follow the "waiting 20 seconds method" before plugging in the power adapter posted by user "BBDL" on page 6 of this forum. From what I've read in the forum there is not a fix other than this-- correct?
Although this work around is ok for me, the tablet is for my technologically challenged grandfather. I think I'd rather install the previous firmware build with the battery issues since that seems more manageable. However, I can't seem to find the kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G version anywhere on the forum for downloading. Can someone point me in the right direction?
hey mate im bran new to tablets as of today so sorry for foolish posts also i wasnt sure were to put this i think im in correct place now could you skip to the softwre bit please
this is for people still srtuggling for a way to enter flash mode on arnova 10b g3 i have 8gb version it works 100% every time for me.
1. plug in power chord both ends. plug in usb, to pc and tablet, 2. with the tablet on (or were ever it crashes at if it crashes….poke in the reset button first keep it held in then a second later press and hold vol + button keep these both help in for 15 seconds. DO NOT RELEASE YET 3 Release the reset button ONLY do NOT release volume!!! 4. keep volume button pressed in till it finishes installing driver or till it gives you driver install error (i was on win 7 32 bit eddition) *you are not in flash/ recovary mode 5 upon error or even upon succesfull install of driver go to device manager and reinstall the driver that came with the rockchip flasher! 6. if all done succsessfull in the flasher software you should see ya device in dreen saying 1 you are now ready to flash.
now about this software if admin could help me id appriciate it…
first off i have flashed my device a couple of times with same result all succsessfull flash but… upon load it appears to crash/freeze at the initial loadup were ARNOVA appears in white accross the screen (seeming like a bad flash) with the power chord plugged in if you wait a little while *still on this screen and hold the standby/power button it actually jumps into the software and says would you like to shut down if you chose cancel you can continue using software/ device as normal. however upon reboot it still does the same thing again and freezes and you need to repeat the process. the problem with this is if you tyy this shutdown mrthod to access device with out the power chord it just does not work! and stays frozen on arnova screen,
also it maybe worth noting that initially i did not have an sd card installed. and the hdd although its 8 gb was showing as only 1.6 free and for somreason when you used an exporer on the device the folder labled sd was actually internal memory not the actual micro sd when i bought one.
i hope this is usfull to the admins or anyone else if i can’t be help.
p.s i also went from stock firmware straight to this one.
i've also tried going from stock to kasty-arn10bg3-40-042 (wich works flawless)
then from kasty-arn10bg3-40-042 to kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G
still no joy.
quickly thanks for the time and effort in making this software possible it was awsome what i got to run pople like you guys are a credit to the world!
This forum is fantastic. Ive just been spending money at Christmas on my son a Nexus and it worked great!
So a friend said why doesnt her Arnova 10b G3 work like the nexus?
Well, after a quick look it doesnt have google play! Makes sense to look to see what the latest firmware is I could find and I found this forum.
But the boot issue.... what would it take to fix this?
Im half tempted to get another slim plug, put a 9v PP3 Square battery on it and say plug this in when your out and about lol.
What the flipin' heck is going on?
Hello, will this still be updated, i have the version with the baterry issue, since i can't install the latest one, because it gets stuck on the arnova logo screen. So is there a baterry fix for this one please or an updated version of the rom that fully works?
Btw i have a capacitive screen on my arnova 10b g3.
When you turn on the tablet screen stops at the ARNOVA logo and no charger is connected only after 20 seconds after launch tablet device turns on and when you turn, you can remove the charger.
Explorer also does not work, it automatically turns off.
USB HOST, nothing is displayed after connecting a keyboard.
Can someone provide me with the link to the previous firmware update (version .45) with the known battery and camera issues? I think the file is kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G but I can't seem to find it on the forums anywhere.
I'm also suffering from the Arnova screen issue. When doing nothing, it stays forever stuck at the initial screen. As for the workaround, when attaching the charger it sometimes goes away and boots normally.
When it's stuck it is possible to connect using 'adb' through USB. Haven't got the detailed error message right now, but when running logcat it seems to be stuck in a loop (and /mnt/sdcard is not yet mounted). I don't know enough about the Android boot process to fix this :/ I'll dig up and pastebin the complete logcat output if someone's interested.
I have encountered some problems, i flashed this on first attempt successfully and it ran for about 2 weeks and now im getting:
In-consistent battery levels, I charger it to about, 50% then reboot it the battery becomes something around 10%-20% and it takes a good deal to charge, i take into account its a tablet aswell.
The time on the status bar becomes inconsistent, mostly it works properly and displays the correct time. But sometimes not sure what causes it but the time freezes on the status bar and running the clock app only displays the correct time.
Also not sure what its meant to do, but the settings->about tablet->rockchip system updates crashes if activated
Explorer crashes if opened aswell.
And i found the latest angry birds will not work (I highly doubt you can change this :/ as i know a previous version works, and Rovio will most likely never reply to me)
Just wanted to know if anyone else experienced this or it was a bad flash etc. :/
