Dunno how helpful this is, I've flashed my 8GB Capacitive Multitouch with 0.46 and I'm observing the following after a bit of testing:

If you try to change the LCD density from the default 160 using one of the various tools that do so, it will lock on the second boot screen.

The default file explorer app bombs out when you try and use it.

Other than that, it seems to work :)

could you guys please put the older versions of the firmware, i.e. version 0.43 through 0.45, back on the site? (0.46 really isn't working for me, and i can't find the older JB versions online)

Hallo guys i have done some testing to classify the error with boot stuck maybe it can help admin Oma and XDA developers to fix it.

timeline

unpluged tablet working -->shutdown, manual reboot-->stuck, reset button-->stuck-->reset button-->1.Boot screen-->Power plug in-->Boot-->Shutdown-->automatic reboot-->stuck-->reset button-->stuck-->unplug power supply-->reset button-->stuck-->reset button-->1.Boot screen-->Power Supply in -->Boot.

Seems to be a problem when the OS picks up the batterie level tablet boots when you plug in the power supply on the first boot screen but not with a pluged in power supply after a  reset or shutdown. Also no pluged in power supply no boot.

Kind regards

Older versions should still be visible on the site, in the older forum posts.

If it helps, here are the files available on the server:

Bit of extra info in case someone finds it helpful...

Done a bit of legwork (i.e. googling) and it appears that LCD Density Modder (available in Play Store) doesn't play ball with Jelly Bean particularly well, causing device lockups as described above on various Jelly Bean devices. I manually changed the density in build.prop and it worked fine... no boot lockups.

I realise the above may not be relative to everyone, but I thought I should point it out in case anyone is using the above app and thinking it's a problem with the firmware... it ain't the firmware's fault in this instance, it's LCD Density Modder ;)

As mentioned before, the default file explorer still falls over, but that's not a biggie... I use ES File Explorer anyway :)

Thanks for the information.

Can you give which density values you have been experiencing and had success with ?

I'll try to add a density change feature in ArcTools if that's interesting.

Cheers.

Sure.

I've changed the build.prop density between the default 160, going down to 110 and it has so far worked fine on all of them.

I think the sweet point is probably around 120 with the G3's screen resolution, but your own eyesight will play a part as well; some people might find that a bit on the small and blurry side. I tried 110 as well, but that was a tad too squinty for me lol.

A density change feature in Arctools would be very handy indeed.

So far in practical use, I'm finding it's a big improvement over 0.42 that I was on previously... well done and good work to all involved :D

In my case the firmware stops at the second boot screen.

I didnt change the density and did not install any mod.

it shows strange behavior, boots when you plug in the power supply. After shutdown it restarts.

Witout power supply it stops at the second boot screen.

Any suggestions?

What i saw from the firmware was realy good but the unreliable boot procedure makes it useless for me.

Thanks for your feedback 8Bitrabbitech.

My Arnova 10b G3 4 Gb works OK with the firmware, I just sometimes loose the touchscreen on first boot after installing the firmware for some reason. I'll rebuild a new firmware with an updated kernel that should better work with the 10b G3 8 Gb model.

Cheers.
