If some people are interested, i tried to create a modified firmware, with the good "services.jar" file.

It's exactly the same as "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G", with the good .jar file.

You can download it here :

http://rapidshare.com/share/E9A5D938C3F01624B208BF75D147884D

If you have some problems or some bugs, plz tell me (or re-install kasty_oma firmware ! ^^)

So can you explain to people like me (who doesnt understand a lot about the subject) what are the diferences between your firmware and the kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G

When you flash your tablet with the "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G" firmware, you have a bug on boot. You can't boot without pluging in the power cable, during the boot sequence.

To correct this bug, mcsgeek found a services.jar file that we have to copy on our tablet after flashing this firmware, to correct this bug.

I just made a copy of the base firmware, and changed the services.jar file, so now you can flash your tablet with my firmware, without changing the services.jar file.

For those who have already flash their tablets with the kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G firmware, changed the services.jar file, and never flash it again, my firmware is useless.

Thanks admin, I'll try it.

But I already tried a cyanogen on this tablet, and there was lot of bugs.

There's a bug with this ROM - my tablet will boot only if connected to the mains charger. If I try to boot from battery it hangs forever at the Arnova screen. Could this be related to the most recent battery fix?

Does anyone know where I can download the stock ROM? The Arnova website has only the 10d G3 listed, no sign of a 10b G3.

I wouldn't recommend flashing this ROM in the meantime.

Hi dwl99,

Which ROM are you talking about ? The OMA from the post #1 ? The OMA modified from my post #210 ? Or the cyanogenmod from post #213 ?

Because with the ROMs from the posts #1 and #213, yeah, there's a battery bug.

The 1st can be fix with this (or by installing my modified firmware) :

I stumbled accross a fix for the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G" by replacing /system/framework/services.jar with the one I attached below. This is from NEOCM's battery fix.  Strangely enough this will fix the battery issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".

After using the trick of unplugging the power cable and reseting with a paperclip then plugging the power cable back in at the second ARNOVA screen, simply replace /system/framework/services.jar and your home free.

You will need a root enabled browser and overwrite /system/framework/services.jar with this one and you will instantly be forced to reboot.  From then on I have had no boot issues with "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".  I also tested on "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and it does fix the battery issue as well.

Please test for yourself.

And it seams lozweezy managed to make the battery working on cyanogen, but I didn't managed personnaly :

Hi killyox, thanks again for your help. Has the battery indicator problem been solved? Because mine seems to work. I changed the circle to the standard battery icon and it has shown charging and now its showing full.

Good luck

Thanks for the fast reply! I actually just found the services.jar fix a minute ago & will give it a go. I've also downloaded the CM ROM & might have a play about with that too. I'm using the ROM from the 1st post.

The CM ROM looks like it's missing a working camera & also has dpi issues.

EDIT - the stock file browser just force closes when I open it, anyone alse get this? I just removed it with Titanium Backup & used Root Explorer instead.

I don't suppose there's any likelihood of a Clockworkmod recovery for this tablet?

Hi Valdas,

Instead of installing the basic kasty_oma firmware, try to install the one at this place :

http://rapidshare.com/share/E9A5D938C3F01624B208BF75D147884D

I modified the basic firmware to include the services.jar fix in it.

It should work fine after that.

Hi, I don't know how to replace the services.jar file :

 - I upload it on my device

 - I use ES files explorer

 - I copy/paste the file but I have an error message : /system/framework/services/jar : open failed : EACCES (Permission denied)

Someone can explain how to proceed ?

I was thinking ES Explorer Files was an root explorer ( I can access to the good directory)
