I stumbled accross a fix for the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G" by replacing /system/framework/services.jar with the one I attached below. This is from NEOCM's battery fix.  Strangely enough this will fix the battery issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and the boot issue in "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".

After using the trick of unplugging the power cable and reseting with a paperclip then plugging the power cable back in at the second ARNOVA screen, simply replace /system/framework/services.jar and your home free.

You will need a root enabled browser and overwrite /system/framework/services.jar with this one and you will instantly be forced to reboot.  From then on I have had no boot issues with "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G".  I also tested on "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-045-1_5G" and it does fix the battery issue as well.

Please test for yourself.

Download services.zip

---

I forgot to mention that you may have to remount /system as rw before overwriting /system/framework/services.jar for this to work.  Some rooted browsers (not all) can remount /system as rw or you can download an app like "Mount system rw" from Google Play.  I use X-plore file manager and it has option to automatically remount /system as rw everytime you attempt to write to it.

I can confirm that mcsgeek's Services.jar fix works great, and I am now enjoying power cord tether-free on my 10bg3. Only things left broken to me are a few minor things, explorer crashing upon opening, camera (Meh who'd use it/even notice it being mirrored), and the humorous fact of that the firmware believes it has GPS Bluetooth and HDMI capability lol (or making it so that Bluetooth dongles work over otg).

A large thanks to everyone who worked on this firmware!

Hi mcsgeek,

Thanks very much for your reply! I'm not quite sure how to do this though, or would presume you need the tablet to boot before you can access these folders? As mentioned I can't get past the Arnova screen despite trying all of the solutions mentioned on this thread. Would there be any sort of "boot disc" solution whereby I could copy software to a microSD that would be accessed before the tablet tries to boot with regular firmware? Am not too bad at fixing PCs so not a complete noob but a bit stumped with an Android tablet by comparison.

Thanks again.

Have a look here.
http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/arnova-10b-g3/screen-stopped-after-flash-jelly-bean/
If you flashed your tablet corectly, using the restore option, not upgrade, it should work for you to.

Regarding the problem with the services.jar, you need the tablet to be working, then use a file explorer, like root explorer, file expert, then copy the services.jar file, set the permissions, reboot

I use "Android commander" for Windows, and didn't have to set the permissions.

For those who wanna try this soft, you can find it at http://androidcommander.com/

It's also really interesting to backup app installed on your device !

You don't do anything wrong, there's a bug on this firmware. Dev will work on it soon to have one not bugged.

But for now, we have to flash with "kasty_oma-arn10bg3-41-046-2G" and then change the "services.jar" file (see mcsgeek post).

And yes, it works with Windows XP, you just have to take the good driver.

If you guys have troubles to follow mcsgeek procedure (post #136), just wait a bit, I'll make a new custom firmware with his changes built in.

Cheers.

Now If someone can come up with a solution to make all the angry birds games work and Google Earth work too, this tab would be beyond awesome.

Thank you for battery patch, it works fine.

Lot of applications want to use sdcard and they don't work if i force them only in app space

Ram is 512, appspace is 2go, virtual sdcard is 512, where is the last Go (3 instead of 4) ?

how can i load app in real sd card instead of law virtual sd card ?

hi i love this FW, but it kinda went scrappy on me and i've tried reflashing 3 times i tried rockchip manager and 1.35 and no luck but when i flashed the ics rom [Update3] Arnova 10b G3 capacitive model ICS custom firmware with Google Play, root and Face Unlock (version 0.42) it booted first try so i thought i wonder if this will work like my htc hd2, so i flashed back to this JB firmware and now it still hanging on the arnova screen every reflash i get a arnova... black flash... arnova... then hannnnng.

here is what i do not understand, when i reflashed this rom, and this is the same for every time, once it has downloaded the rom to the device and installs i get the android with the blue octosphere in it chest hole, and to the bottom left of it there is yellow writing that goes some thing like this...

installing...

formatting...

clearing cache...

reboot...

any help would be amazing as this rom made this tablet worth the money i payed for it, before this rom it was draw junk
