Hi - i bought the G9 stick as the Arnova says it's fully compatible with the 10b G3, however I cant get it to connect?

I have a specific data SIM on the way, but currently i'm trying to use with my mobile SIM which has a data allowance on it. I can get 3G on the phone, but not on the tablet?

I can see the network provider in the APN list, but no connection. Am i just in a bad 3G area, or is something wrong?

Cheers...

Should be not problem using the phone SIM on the tablet. The 3G stick is also advertised to work on the Arnova 8 G2 and I tested it working fine. It may also be an APN problem, try to create a new one.

I'm planning to test the 3G Stick on the 10b G3 next week, I'll let you know.

Thanks. I'll try in a different location, it may be a connection problem as I dont get a steady light, just flashing red or green ( 2 or 3G registering)

I look foward to the review

Cheers

Just to let you know that I tried the stick away from home this weekend, and it worked fine.

I used it with my Orange SIM, plugged it in and it loaded up the internet via 3G no problem 🙂

Thanks for the update, so it was some 3G signal issue ? Back home, can you compare if there is a significant signal reception difference with your phone or other 3G devices ?

Cheers.

Not sure. I get a good 3G signal on the phone, but I guess it must be a signal strength issue, like you say

hello Coggie,

Do you think Arnova 10b g3 , will only work with Arnova stick or it can work with any 3g Stick. Has anyone tried using it with any other stick?

thanks

As Coogie mentioned, the Archos 3G Stick works on his Arnova 10b G3; others 3G dongles may work, but you should probably prefer the Archos one as it's verified to be compatible with the tablet.

Cheers.

I have a Huawei USB 3G stick that works with the 10 G3 but I have noticed some difficulties to get it working. When I put my data enabled SIM in the modem everything seems to work fine. When the tablet asks for PIN code, after entering the correct PIN code everything seems to be OK. But... The APN list remains empty, searching for networks doesn't give any feedback...

The only solution I found was to disable the PIN code prompt using the SIM card in my mobile phone and then putting it back in the usb modem. After disabling the PIN request everything works fine.
