Using my 10b G3 (capacitive) I'm finding the responsiveness of the keyboard to be a real pain. The tablet seems smooth enough when playing something like Andry Birds or flicking through the home screens, but trying to type something into a web form is an exercise in patience, always having to wait for the keyboard presses to catch up and ensure keys actually registered when I pressed.
All I have done with the tablet so far is install the apps that came with it (then remove the ones I have no interest in), plus Dolphin Browser, so there's plenty of space on it still and nothing running in the background I am aware of.
My main justification for buying the tablet was as something cheaper than a laptop that I could use to surf and post in various web forums I participate without moving from the sofa ... but at the moment I can feel myself being put off the whole idea by the sluggishness and wanting to return it to PC World.
Am I just suffering from early adopters' problems - is there likely to be a firmware update that addresses issues like this? Or is this experience atypical?
If not, does anyone have any useful tips and tricks from experience with earlier Arnova tablets that might help improve the UX a little?
For anyone reading this thread with the same issues but no solutions/advice I have the first one for you ... download and install Smart Keyboard Pro (other replacement keyboards may work well too) - typing latency is now a lot lower than with the stock keyboard.
Not sure Smart Keyboard is in AppsLib - I managed to get Google Market working and downloaded it from there using my Google account (I already use it as my keyboard of choice on my phone)
