Ok,

So using a linux box, I compiled rkflashtool and ran it against my 10b g2, (resistive screen)

To put the tablet into flash mode I shut it completely down, then held volume + and plugged in the cord that was already attached to my PC running linux, still holding vol+ I entered

lsusb

on the PC and saw a new device listed and let go of +

using rkflashtool to dump 0x0000 to 0x2000 got me this list, formatted as

length@offset(name) ,    which I translated to           offset        length    for rkflashtool
0x00002000@0x00002000(misc),                         0x00002000 0x00002000
0x00004000@0x00004000(kernel),                       0x00004000 0x00004000
0x00002000@0x00008000(boot),                         0x00008000 0x00002000
0x00004000@0x0000A000(recovery),                   0x0000A000 0x00004000
0x00080000@0x0000E000(system),                     0x0000E000 0x00080000
0x00082000@0x0008E000(backup),                     0x0008E000 0x00082000
0x0003a000@0x00110000(cache),                       0x00110000 0x0003a000
0x00100000@0x0014a000(userdata),                   0x0014a000 0x00100000
0x00002000@0x0024a000(kpanic),                      0x0024a000 0x00002000
-@0x0024c000(user)

and I dumped then all using the sytntax

sudo ./rkflashtool r offset length >filename

So

Where can I upload the zip of the backup dump? it's about 74mb zipped

I think someone knowledgeable with this should look at it first, before it gets released to the world, I dont want anyone bricking something cause I made a newbie error,

that said the file starts with

RKAF     and lists the boot loader and all the .img files in what looks like a directory structure so I THINK it's ok...

Can I email this thing to someone for a proper checkout?

My changes in the forum upload did not work as expected so I am setting up a separate upload. I may need an hour or so... don't want to keep you waiting. You can have it when you wake up... or use http://www.megaupload.com/ in the meantime, as you wish.

Cool....  looks like it is setup like the 10 G2.  I should be able to root this one real fast if the dumps are OK.

All I need is backup.img

The upload module I have been setting up does not behave right with large files, I'd suggest to use Megaupload or similar service before we have an uploader fully working here. I'll let you know.

As soon a Rich wakes up 😉

I can setup a FTP server for him to upload the backup.img to.

I am dieing to get my hands on that ROM.  As you know we have a few folks here that flashed their 10B G2 with my 10 G2 ROM and now their touch screen does not work and they have no way to go back!  So they have been waiting a while now for a ROM to get them fixed.

So Rich if you know how to FTP let me know and I will get you setup!

Bad news Rich.  The backup.img failed to unpack using AFP tool.

UnpackImage:CheckImageFile failed,Err(-1)

The header looks correct with the RKAF at the front and I can see the files listed ion the header but.... it fails to unpack.  The backup.img looks way too large!!!  It really should be under 100megs.  The 9 G2 is about 75 megs. 10 G2 is 77 megs.... Yours is 266 megs....

I will see if I can figure out what the problem is but I think you gave the wrong length when you dumped it.
