ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288

I installed adb on my mac to log the arnova 10bg2. adb logcat works perfectly on a Samsung Galaxy. On the arnova,
when I connect the debug-ready 10bg2 via usb, I see the device :"adb devices" gives 0123456789ABCDEF device; but adb logcat detaches the device and keeps saying "waiting for device".
Also adb shell, leads me to a root shell "#" (strange, the phone is not rooted), and almost any command (including ls!) pops me out of the shell.
Any ideas?
Â
Thank you,
Dan
That's strange, your adb problem does not sound very familiar.
Which firmware are you running ?

I've never seen a default firmware from Arnova with root enabled, the problems you are getting in the shell looks like adb support is broken.
Â
Unfortunately, Arnova hasn't made the stock firmware available for the 10b G2 yet on their download page, so you don't have many choices.
If your 10b G2 model is the capacitive one, you can use our firmware kitchen to get yourself a custom firmware based on Miklaus forum user firmware dump, but I haven't had much feedback on this one yet. Check around in the 10b G2 forum there are maybe other firmware options.Â
Miklaus stock firmware dump is here but I'd rather wait a bit until Arnova release the 10b G2 firmware, so you have a clean solution to restore your tablet in case you have firmware issues.

Mmmm
Thanks!
How do I discover whether 100% my Arnova is capacitive?
Usually Arnova models have the letters DT (or Dual Touch) on the tablet case and the product box for resistive models.
A resistive model need some finger pression applied on the screen to get the input, it also works with objects such as a pen, which doesn't on capacitive models as they work by detecting touches using the conductivity of the skin.

It is definitely a capacitive, then.
I have written to Arnova to ask about firmware...

Sorry not to post the answer, but it was disappointing:

We inform you that there is no firmware updates available yet for the device you have.
Your device has the most up-to-date firmware installed.
Kind Regards,
Arnova Technical Support
...which is ridicolous, of course!

Yes, by the law, they should provide the current firmware for download.
