I have found that the full-size USB port on the Arnova 10 allows me to plug in a USB flash drive and access it like on a PC. Arnova claimed in a brochure I found in pdf format on the reseller's site that you can use this port for a mouse and a keyboard. Does anyone know if that is true? Has anyone tried it? What was you experience with it?

That's true. mouse and keyboard is working with arnova, and you can mount usb-flash drives, but arnova works only with FAT32, but not NTFS (I read that somewhere). and theoretically it can works with usb-hdd, but only with there own power supply, but I couldn't.

And does someone know  about mounting of 3G-usb-Modem? Stock firmware doesn't allow that, but are there some Mods or Customs where it is possible?

Just tried a mouse on the full size USB port of an Arnova 10b (should be pretty much the same on Arnova 10) and it worked immediately. Keyboard did not work tough, I'll try to double check with another keyboard soon.

masheka, I haven't heard about 3G data modem support on Arnova 10 or other Rockchip 2818 devices. This may be tricky to implement as the manufacturers haven't release the source of the Linux kernel. I'll keep an eye on that and will report it on the Blog or forum, as it seems there are quite a few people interested in that feature.

I tried a USB mouse, a wireless one, and it worked great. I will try a keyboard in a few days when I am someplace where I can find a USB keyboard, I don't own one. If the keyboard works, I will purchase a wireless keyboard and mouse combo for this tablet. Don't have access to a 3G USB modem to try it. Thanks for the input above.

Time for an update on this post. Since the original post I was able to try several USB devices through a hub and they worked great. I ordered an Inland keyboard for $10 from Tiger Direct along with a hub, so now I take the Arnova 10 tablet to work with me and hook up the keyboard, wireless mouse and a USB flash drive and use them all together. It's like having a notebook computer that becomes a tablet when I unplug it. Best of both worlds. Since trying to input by finger input on the screen will frustrate the heck out of you, using this keyboard makes life much better. Using a mouse is another big step forward. I convert movies to MP4 and watch them from the USB flash drive. What's not to love?

I tried using my wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse combo that I usually use on my desktop  and it worked well on my Arnova 10.

Another update regarding the USB on the Arnova 10. I am finding that I need to use a powered USB hub to use the USB flash drive with the Arnova 10 if I am also using the keyboard and wireless mouse. It wants to restart whenever I add the USB flash drive to the non-powered hub I currently have. The only explanation I can come up with is that there is not enough power on the USB to power all of the devices at the same time. I am planning on getting a powered unit to try within the next month or so. Has anyone else been able to power a keyboard, wireless mouse and a USB flash driver all at the same time without additional power? [Image Can Not Be Found]
