When I first got my 10 G2, I loaded up the SD card with movies and music files which I put into a directory labelled media. Initially, I had no trouble getting Video Player or Music apps to recognise these and add them to their libraries. Now they have stopped doing so, and all I see listed is Big Buck Bunny and the few mp3 tracks supplied. I've tried a manual "Update Media Library" to no avail. I've tried a reset and reboot, and still nothing. The notification says that media libraries are being updated on boot-up but nothing shows. I can run the files one by one if I track them down with File Manager.
Curiously, my photos, also stored on the SD card do show up in Gallery.
Any ideas?

I'm adding a reply to my own question, as I've now found the answer.
On checking the SD card with a file manager, I noticed a row of files all called ".novideo" or ".nomusic" etc.
I took a shot of courage and deleted them, ran another Library Update, et voila!, they're back.
I can only assume that an unsuccessful libary update, which maybe got interrupted put the files there as 'there is nothing to see here' markers!
