Basically the screen on my Arnova 10G2 isn't working anymore.
It either doens't respond when I touch it or, thinks i'm touching it somewhere else.
I've attempted calibrating it several times (believe me that's a task and a half when the screen isn't working) i've restored factory setting in hopes that would help and also re-intalled the firmware without success the screen still isn't working.
I keep my tablet in very good conditions. it's always in it's protective case and has had a screen protector since the day I bought it..... HELP!
Apologies if a similar post already exists I tried a few times to find a solution on the forum.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I've seen this sort of behavior when the internal ribbon cable for the touchscreen comes loose. There are two ribbon cables, one for the LCD screen and one for the capacitive touch surface. There are other possible causes, but if you feel like opening yours up to check it out it's an option. Be careful when you separate the two halves as you don't want to damage the cables or connector/socket where they plug into the main board.
I had the same issue of touch calibration being incorrect of about 1cm after I replaced the stock ICS rom with other custom roms. I returned the tablet under warranty and arnova sent me a new one and the calibration was ok untill I put a custom rom and the problem came back. This time I managed to root it and backing up stock ICS rom before putting the custom ones.
Is there any way to manually calibrate the screen?
