Hello all

I am new to the android world and have recently purchased the Arnova 10 G2. I am quite happy with it overall (except for the microphone).

I would also like to use kindle on the tablet and downloaded it from freewarelovers. It runs, but the top line is hidden by the status bar or home bar or whatever it is called.

Is there any way to hide the bar? Or to adjust the Kindle display so that it has a wider top margin?

Well, thanx for your time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I have the same problem. ebooks can be read ok with Aldiko if you increase the border size, but Kindle does not have that option. So... anyone... is there any way the Arnova status bar at the top of the screen can be 'retracted'??  -  thanks

Bought my Arnova 10 G2 as a Christmas present for my wife, got ArcTools and flashed the ROM (so that I could get Android Market onto it plus BBC iPlayer, Kindle etc). Wife is very happy with it and I'm impressed too - great value for money.

I don't have much experience on the subject, I have just noticed another forum thread on the topic:

If you have a reader app that is getting cut off by the status bar I did find a kludge to git rid of it.  Follow instructions here.  The other user also found that adding button savior app allowed him to exit apps without rebooting.

Cheers Bob... I'll just use Feedbook reader for now (that kludge looks painfulYell) and maybe 'upgrade' to a kindle fire in a while and hand this one down to the kids...

Do not know if this would be possible, but could an alternative solution to hiding the status bar be to make it transparent? It might still obscure the odd letter on kindle, but the majority of the line may be visible.

I found this post on the XDA site which suggests this is possible on gingerbread.

Hmmm.... I will look into that later.  Seems pretty easy.
