Can anybody just confirm to me I am getting a high pitch
Buzzing sound coming from the side where the USB port
Is. When you hold it to your ear you can hear it. I turn
The speaker volume down and still get the sound. Although
Not really loud if you listen carefully you can hear it.
Can anybody just test there tablet for me please to see
If they can hear anything. Thanks

Yes, I can hear the high pitch noise if my ear is about 1cm away from the UDB port side.

This is the second one now from arnova because
The first one had battery issues. I hope I don't have to send this one back as well.

If I do I will have to re flash the original firmware
Back on it I presume that would have to be
Done with the rock chip flashing tool from
The admin post ?

Probably, the stock firmware from the manufacturer being a single consolidated update.img file, not the split files (system.img, boot.img ...) that you can find in finless custom firmware.

If you like our web site, applications and firmwares, feel free to support our site. Donations are used to pay the bills for our server hosting costs, development tools and purchase new tablets to support.

Yes use the admin tool.  If you just copy over update.img and reboot it will be a NO BOOT....  Read my post about the recovery system and why it cant go back and forth ever using a simple copy update.img.

It requires a eraseIDB to restructure the system which the recovery system cant handle on that level.

Read my post about it if you want to know why,

Bob

I too hear the noise however it appears to be only when I have the screen brightness set to auto or ver low, turn that off and/or increase the brightness and the sound goes

Hmmm.... I bet it is just a crystal oscillating (screen driver or something) and possibly just vibrating on the circuit board. I bet if you took it apart you could add a dab of silicon and be done with it.

You are right if you turn the tablet to full brightness the sound is gone, and that ws a similar issue I had with an lcd tv.
Can others test this as well please and report back to forum. If obviously, having full brightness of on will have an effect
On battery life

LOL i knew it was the screen that makes that noise.. mine does, so i put the brightness up full .. and it goes.

Even if the brightness is down to 95% you still get a noise...

odd.

If it at full bright, a: it looks a bit washed out and b : it will kill your battery !!

HTC Desire CM7.1, Arnova 10G2 ( stock rom ) All Google products fully working!!

I have the same problem but the sound come from the corner right bottom (screen) and not where the USB port is. It happend only when the screen is on.

The lower brightness to 40% : we hear middle level noise

between 40% to 70% of the brightness : the level of noise is the higest

It decrease from 70% to 99%

higest brightness : the noise stop.

All charged noise still there, not taking it back again it is not something that is tat loud and can only here it if I hold tablet to my ear, so guess I am going to live with it.

Just loaded back on Bobs Firmware , market etc and all perfect.
