It probably won't be an easy task to put Archos 101 (both Gen8 or Gen9 models) hardware on an Arnova 10 G2 as these devices are quite different, one is a Rockchip based tablet, the others are using TI OMAP platforms that do not have much to do with Rockchip...

I understand this. The pinholes for the HDMI mini are there and so is the software. I don't see why it wouldn't just plug n play once I get a connector. I know I could wire a generic one in but I'd like it to be alittle cleaner than my DC connector job.

I Right have to call Archie directly. Why don't companies offer replacement parts and up grades for these things.

Not possible rockchip rk2918 doesnt support hdmi out. You cant just add a hdmi port onto a chipset that doesnt support it

There is an older posts here that someone took a picture of the HDMI area of the circuit board.  It's not just the connector that is missing.  All the electronic components and processor are missing!

Much work I think to put it in there youself.

I dont think there is any rockchip based tablet with hdmi because rockchip doesn't support it.

Quite possible but the photos of the 10 G2 internals show the area on the circuit board for the HDMI connector and electronics.  So the hardware design of the board shows it may have the capability.   However if it is not supported by Rockchip that could be why Arnova didnt spend the money to put those components on the board.

Does anyone have a pic of the archos internals. I'd like to see what's missing. It didn't seem to me that a lot was missing.

Why would they leave dead software on the system. I still think its worth looking into. I believe more in upgrading than replacement.

They left dead software on for the same reason apple left iphone software on the ipod touch. They just couldnt be bothered to get rid of it.

And i dont see the point in company's spending time getting rid of dead software when who's it hurting? Its not like its getting loaded into memory.

And as for the board its probs the same board as they used in the archos they've just put a new chipset in and removed what's not supported by the chipset.

They've put it into the same case as the archos and just covered up where the hdmi would have gone.

I admit I'm newish to this hole software thing.

But why can't it run an out put driver if you put the software in.

Is there a place I hate how little amount of spec's there are for this.

Because it would be missing modules and instruction sets also functions within the gpu and no amount of firmware can make it work.

Its like trying to get an armv6 cpu to exacute armv7 code just wouldnt work
