Okay, I got this tablet just yesterday. I do love it but it seems to have many downfalls. I cannot get skype to work AT ALL, half the android market apps that I know they offer I cannot get like for my school. Now, the darn FaceBook app wont work...I know I am signing in with all the correct information but it keeps saying there is an error and wont allow me to sign in. Anyone else having this problem or not a fix? Are all tablets this irritating? [Image Can Not Be Found]

I Live in the Uk and have installed a custom firmware on the tablet from this forum that gives access to the full proper Android market. If you just have the firmware that come with the tablet than you will only get Applib market which is not the proper Android market, it is a third party market that doesnt have everything. There is a new official firmware for the Arnova 10 G2 here that may solve your Facebook issues. As for Skype I cant say because I have not tried.

http://arnovatech.com/support/updates.html?country=gb&lang=en&p=2

If you fancy trying the new Custom firmware you can install it from here

/blog/featured/arnova-10-g2-first-custom-firmware-market-root/

Bear in mind that is is the first release so read through this forum, but I can say that it is stable with a few issues but overall it is great and gives you full access to the Proper Android market and means that you can install Google services like Gmail, Google Maps etc. This is something that you CAN NOT DO with the original firmware so I think it is worth it.

And if you dont like it just load back on your original firmware, Easy![Image Can Not Be Found]

I've got the update for Arnova but I am currently trying to install the custom firmware and it keeps telling me that its unsuccessful when downloading...The official firmware did not solve my facebook issues...Pretty irritating really! Technology is so wonderful, but it never seems to work right. I am trying to download the custom firmware now, if it tells me its unsuccessful again[Image Can Not Be Found], what then?

This is what it says " The process android.process.,edia has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" when I push the force close, the only option there is the download then says it's unsuccessful!

Are you trying to download it from your tablet?

You need to download it to your Pc. Than transfer the img file to the root of your device by plugging the usb cable from device to your pc. Than safely move it from your pc and the upgrade will start. ??

Ya I realized that after reading more.....I think I did it right...I am in the middle of restarting my tablet as it froze after I moved it to my tablet. The only issue is, the install button is orange on my tablet and wont let me select it?

Just make sure the file you downloaded is unzipped before you put it on tablet.

Be patient when it starts to load the custom firmware on it, you will see the screen go black than some writing  will appear showing that it is flashing. The tablet may look like it has frozen, it hasnt just leave it about 5 minutes it will come back on with the new firmware. When I did it I thought that it wasnt gonna boot up but it does[Image Can Not Be Found]

I extracted the file, placed it where I could send it to my tablet and did so....It showed it was no longer zipped. It is just sitting there saying Firmware Updating....A image file of firmware versions 0.2.3 is found :'mnt/storage/updat.img'. Current firmware versions is . Would you like to install the image file? if so, all the user data and applications installed will be removed! Then there is a ORANGE install button and a gray cancel button....it wont let me click either

Yes same thing, the file that you put on the tablet should have the name update.img and be placed on the system root ( or system folder) and not the memory card.

That worked for me, as soon as I unplugged the cable connected to pc and tablet it started the update
