How about a list of bugs in stock firmware:
1) The thing wakes up from sleep every 10 or so minutes with a message that the sdcard has been unexpectedly removed. Maybe only if you have an sdcard installed. Very annoying because it burns your screen, wifi, and of course battery.
Workaround: to reduce battery drain you have to shut off wifi before sleep, then turn back on upon wake (bleh). You need to keep the screen timeout short to reduce battery drain and backlight burnout, which is very annoying because it can go asleep when you are actually using it and interrupt wifi, etc.
2) Wifi Location doesn't work, although the settings has an enable switch for it. Many apps require this.

FYI all of the rom flashing I have been doing lately 😉 I have noticed sometimes it not waking up on it's own like that. In those times I remember I never did setup thus never turned on location services for WiFi. I think they are related. Try turning off WiFi location and see if that stops it from waking up on it's own.
Also same thing with the sd card ejection on wake up. I don't always get that. I think with no apps installed is why I am not seeing that sometimes. Again due to just booting and reflashing and not installing apps. Other times I have seen that I have market and other stuff installed. Not sure but again just what I have noticed over time with different flashes of roms and the bugs you list as I too have seen them but not always.

Wow, good observation! That appears to work so far. I can even sleep with wifi on, and get only a few percent drain sleeping overnight.
So this firmware may not have any known critical bugs, just lack of features?

1) Last night trying to download & install using the “AppsLib” to Dl I kept getting the “make sure you have free space & try again – download unsuccessful” popup messages.
I checked & found that I have plenty of space left:
Nand flash- 2.7GB free,
SD card – 14.62GB free,
Internal storage – 178MB free.
So I dumped a 70.4MB video & copied the music folder to the SD drive then went back & deleted the songs from the onboard music folder.
Tried to Dl the files again & received the same warnings.
2) The home button doesn’t work very well anymore. I have to use the back (arrow) button 1 or 2x before it’ll work properly.

Now I have had the sdcard eject problem return, and have to turn the darn wifi off every time before sleep (grrr!) and then back on. And can't set a long screen timeout without burning during sleeptime. I don't care at all about any actual eject - it's just the spontaneous and needless wake-ups from sleep.
THIS SEEMS TO BE A BUG ON ALL FIRMWARES. I use the latest arnova firmware, but it was reported on one of the rooted one too.

I get apps blown away after ejecting a camera successfully from USB. It seems all the apps that were partly on sdcard (directory, not the card) not only lose their icon but vanish without a trace. However they reappear with a reboot. I can't see how this is the camera's fault and suspect the stock arnova firmware from end of 2011.

Aha! This took even a more disasterous turn during a sleep where my nand memory (4gb) totally filled up and the battery suddenly went from near full to flat. It appears to be the notorious GALLERY app making thousands of thumbnail pictures.
How can I shut this thing down - it seems to be a builtin app with the firmware and I have had trouble with it in past versions of android with just going crazy in the background. I think it is triggering that sdcard message when it tries and fails to scan it during sleep. Can't reinstall it, and clearing data just helps temporarily.
You might check your directory DCIM/.thumbnails to see if it has thousands of them.

I've got one more idea to diagnose these wakeups as a possible app rather than firmware problem. Before sleep, go into settings/appl/appl mgt/running apps. Then if you notice it waking up look at what apps are running.
Besides google framework, the most common app appearing is aldiko. I remember from Froyo days that both aldiko and gallery apps can try to scan files and even the internet in background. I might nuke aldiko (can't do for gallery) and see if this helps.
