I bought this tablet a month ago and one day when I got home and removed it from my bag the lcd was broken. As far as I can tell its only the lcd which got broken and I am trying to find a replacement lcd with a resonable price (not half the cost of the tablet) to fix it myself. Can any of you guys provide information about where to find cheap ones or is it possible to separate digitizer from the screen? can I use archos 101 screens? are they compatible?
Please help me guys I really need to fix this tablet.
Sorry to hear you got a broken screen! I had a quick look on the net for a replacement without any success except for ebay, there is a company that sells them on there, but they are £74.00 so not cheap! The ebay item number is 260942627572
you would have to check with them if it is the LCD and the digitiser combined or just the LCD.
I dont think an archos 101 screen would work, as I believe the 101 has a resistive screen and the 10g2 has a capacitive screen and as such the software drivers would be different (although I could well be wrong)
If you do get one, check out page 2 of the DC PCB power connector thread on this forum for some tips on taking your tablet apart.
Thank you for your reply Mobius. I have already looked through ebay but it is quite expensive.. I was thinking about using the lcd only (if it is possible to seperate digitizer from lcd) and use my old digitizer as it is not broken. They have the same screen size 10.1" and the resolution is the same so I tought it may work as I found the lcd itself for £40-£50 on ebay =/..
When looking at the screen surface, the Arnova 10 G2 seems to have the same screen as the Archos 101 IT (Gen8) , the screen color is about the same, so is the grid on top of it. Nobody has confirmed it yet.
Also, for your info, on the 101 IT, the screen was rumoured to be mounted upside down, to get some better viewing angles.

I have a cracked screen as well, how it happened we have no idea, simply put it on a coffee table when finished, went to it net day and a dam great crack from corner to corner.
but I contacted Archos UK asking where I could get a replacement, only to be told that the warranty was now void and offering 25% off another tablet. hell this thing is barely two months old to simply discard like that. No other help or advice at all ! useless.!
I am scanning ebay for a bricked or dead one, so I can take screen off.
if anybody comes up with somewhere to get a replacement would love to hear.
