Got my son a brand new Arnova 10 G2 for xmas, all going fine until I plugged it into a PC to upgrade the firmware as per instructions on the arnovatech.con website. Got as far as copying the new image file to the root directory and safely removing the tablet from the PC, then it went blacj,

Now, all we have is a blank screen, no life in device at all as far as I can tell. Definitely is fully charged (has been plugged in for several hours until light goes green).

Have also tried the hard reset (tried all different methods, reset button, reset button + volume up, reset button + power button), nothing works.

If I try plugging the device into a PC or laptop just get a message about there being a malfunction with the hardware device and it has not been installed (get exactly same message on every PC / laptop I try to connect tablet to).

Any ideas please? Have a very upset son at present...... Cry

Thanks - I've seen these posts and have tried to use this tool. Problem I have is that the PCs (have tried several) do not recognise the tablet - they simply say there has been a malfunction on the USB Device, in Device Manager it state 'Unknown Device' under the USB tree, have tried disabling / uninstalling this unknown device but when trying again get exactly the same, PC / Laptop never prompts me for driver

You need to follow the instructions on installing the driver.  For flashing you need a driver installed!

Tried everything, and followed everything to the letter but no joy.

Gave up and took device back to shop, they replaced it for a new one so all happy now

cheers for the replies!
