ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery easy install for RK3066 and RK3188 -- TWRP/CWM Flash-Tool and root for RK3288
Please donate to support OMA and CrewRKTablets firmware work, thank you !

Okay, picked up the Arnova 10 G2 on Thursday and made quite a pigs backside of rooting it. Bricked the lovely new (Christmas) toy and have finally got it back up and running after running the Rockchip tool. However all the apps that came with it are gone and I can't seem to download anything from the appslib...just says "please make sure you have free space and try again"
Any help would be great thanks!

The flash tool does not really load the full rom. It's a recovery.
Now that you have it up, plug in the USB cord. The tablet will pop up a screen and ask you if you want to enable USB. Do it. Now open my computer and you will see the Arnova as a removable drive. Open the drive. Copy the update.img to the root of that drive. Unplug the USB cable and you will get a message asking to install the update. Click yes.
When it boots back up you should have all the stock stuff you had when you bought it.

The right image to use to restore the tablet back to its default is the one from Arnova
(current latest is: http://arnovatech.com/support/firmware/2/arnova10g2/111010/update.img )
It looks like this firmware does not contain the apps the tablet had initially, the setup wizard does not seem to install anything even if asked to.
Well you can install Appslib from there http://appslib.com/download/index.html most of the installed apps should be on Appslib.

Get the official update.img from Arnova here
http://arnovatech.com/support/updates.html?country=us&lang=en&p=2
Also pay attention when you first boot and go through the wizard. There is a dialog about installing apps from contibutors. If you click no to that the standard stuff like appslib will not be there. If you did click no go into settings and at the bottom into About Device. At the bottom there click the startup wizard. Power down and back up and you will get asked again about installing apps.

I did initially try download the appslib from the that link, but when trying to download anything I got the message about making sure I had free space and trying again. Is there something I need to change to allow me to download?
Thanks again folks, this is a big learning curve but that's why I bought the toy
You may have some data left from your previous installation that are using the (limited) storage space for application.
You can go for a factory reset, go to Settings/Privacy/Factory data reset

Anyone got anything about this? Why can't I download any apps from appslib?
Because it's Xmas period when Appslib always goes down or misbehaves from overuse and understaffed holiday support. It is now giving complaints about not enough appspace to download even when you can show you have plenty under settings.
In meantime you can go download the amazon app store from that web site. Or you can install the gmarket in the unrooted fashion which doesn't require arctools, which is a little harder.

Hi, ok I admit I am no techno wiz kid but have bought the 10 G2 for my son for xmas and thought I would set it up for him. Checked out the website and downloaded the update as suggested but now when I go onto Applib I am also getting the message about not enough space to download.
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong??
Answers in idiot speak please
Thanks
As suggest by member Daft (Post #10 above) this well may be a temporary problem on Appslib side.
My recommandation is to retry later, if possible at a different timing. Archos/Arnova Appslib servers are probably overloaded in this Christmas holidays, hopefully something will be done quick to fix the problem.
