Hi paul,

I have just got round to doing this myself so i'll try and explain what I did.

With your Arnova turned off, and your P.C. turned on, plug in the small end on the USB cable that came with your Arnova into the small USB socket on your Arnova.

Plug the other end into your P.C. and after a few seconds the arnova should turn itself on, and say that it is connected via USB and would you like to use USB connection, (Sorry I cannot remember the exact words but it's something like that), Click YES.

Then on your P.C. goto "My Computer" where you will see your Hard drives listed, one of these will be your Arnova, just open the Arnova one.

DON'T go into any directorys, just leave it open, then copy and paste the file called  "update.img" into this open folder. wait for it to fully copy over.

Then Insert the power cable that came with your arnova and switch on the mains, then right click on "Safely remove this device" on your P.C. and when your P.C. says "it is now safe to remove" unplug the end that connects to your P.C.

The Arnova should automatically see the update and ask if you would like to do the update, simply click "YES". (Reason for the mains to be plugged in, simple, you wouldn't update the bios on a laptop without the mains on, incase the battery dies.

A lot of chaps here might say I've gone the long way round but I like things explained so why not do the same for others.

Hope this helps,

p.s.

When the update goes ahead you will see some info come up on the screen, dont touch anything because your arnova should automatically reset itself once the update is finished. (my one took about 5 mins). but that's only a guide.

all the best
