(admin edit: I have moved the topic to the appropriate section)

I know this has nothing to do with Morkamod but I just wanted to show Morka that I got Android 4.0.3 working on an Arnova 10G2 tablet.

The cam/wifi/touchscreen doesn't not work but maybe I was thinking Morka could possibly configure/modify the kernel to work with this tablet so that its operational?

Or would it be integrating drivers with the android version?

Not sure since I have no programming experience.

The OS runs pretty smooth other than no drivers being installed/compatible for this model tablet.

Just wanted to share this video with the Dev's and viewers.  If you want a copy of the image files just give message me or reply and I can forward them via Yousendit service or megaupload.

As the topic title says and the video shows, this firmware comes from Teclast t760.

Merculiv, it would be interesting that you attach or link here the firmware file that you used, so we can have a look if something can be done...

Thanks.

Admin,

I have linked the ICS Teclast t760 firmware image files and everything else used inside a zip including the RK29update flasher tool.

These are the same exact images I used to test on the Arnova 10 G2 inside the video including the same parameter file used.

The system works with a USB mouse after installation in order to navigate in the menus but the camera/wifi/touchscreen/rotation sensor do not.  You may have to plug in the mouse a few times to get the OS to detect it but it eventually works.

I also had to go into settings menu and switch the primary language to English so that I could understand the icons and menus which was in the Japanese language by default.

ROMS used with RK29update tool:

you can do the test with the most compatible with our tablet

Mediacom Smartpad 810c

Filesystem cramfs  http://yf.value4it.com/Service_Files/TabletPC/PMP5080B-BRU/PMP5080B_2.0.0_20120401.zip

Filesystem ext4  http://www.mediafire.com/?b0t40e045zm3qs0

uncheck the selection in the kernel.img

If it works I'll update the wifi but normally the wifi works

compatible with other models 9G2

attentions to other models is not compatible

fxubmc,

Yes its the Native Android 4.0.3 on an Arnova 10 G2 working with the mouse only.

Use my zip link in my previous post above... I have included the rom files and tool.

The one morka posted is only compatible with the 9 g2 version.

Cool

I found LPLed RK2918 Linux Kernel source files if any of the Dev's would like to get their hands on them from here. : )

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/archos-tablet/lgpl-rk2918-linux-kernel-source-code-publication/

Not sure if this kernel source is compatible with the latest versions of ICS or not but just wanted to check with others.

Unfortunately, these Kernel sources do not include most of the drivers required for our Arnova G2 devices to work.

Futhermore thesesources are outdated ,as most ICS firmwares are built on top of Linux 3.0 kernel.

Here is an Arnova 9 G3:

With the new Arnova 10 G3 getting ICS 4.0, I think its easier for everyone to " dump " the firmware to our G2.

Lets just wait. Cool
