I got the Arnova 10 G2 for my son for Christmas. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the value for the price. One main drawback I've seen is the behavior of the status bar with different apps.
Obviously, with games the fixed status bar is fine. When you're constantly touching the screen it would get really annoying for the status bar to constantly pop up and go away over and over again.
However, with pretty much any video or book app it should hide itself so you can utilize the full screen. The frustrating thing is that the status bar behaves perfectly with the built in video player, so it shows that the capability is there. Unfortunately, with Kindle and other book readers as well as Netflix the status bar stays fixed. Its annoying with Netflix because you're not able to watch using the full screen. It basically renders the Kindle app unusable because you can't read the top of line of each page.
It would be nice if all of the apps where you're watching a video/movie/tv show or reading a book would use the same method as the built in video player where the status bar automatically hides itself very quickly and only comes back when you touch the screen. Unfortunately this is not the case.
I'm wondering if there are any plausible workarounds for this problem that anyone has found.
