Hi all,

Probably a noob question for you chaps here... But could anyone please tell me:

1 (I understand it's not I.E.) but how can you tell if you are connected securely to a website thats requires security?

(in other words, where's the padlock).

and 2, when one tries to go onto a secured website you get inundated with (sorry about this chaps but i'm having to work with a bad memory from a couple of weeks ago)... those boxes that say's something about security certificates??

I'm hoping someone understands where i'm coming from, maybe someone who had a simular problem and how they went about curing the problem.

(p.s. yes date on arnova 10 G2 was correct, when trying the sites)

Many thanks for any replies, as always there very much appreciated.

Sadsack, the "lock" icon is immediately to the left of the URL in the addressbar of the browser.  The URL should begin "https".  Not sure what your question is about certificates.  Can you try again?

Thanks for the reply HaroldG,

It was my motherinlaws 10 G2, she wanted to do a couple of bank transfers whilst i was working on her p.c.

She is not using any other browser apart from the one that came with the unit.

As far as i could tell there was no padlock icon to be seen.  and also the 10 G2 was being hit with veriSign security certificate requests, I have seen these occasionally but only if the clock is out of sync by a few hours or a day or two but that is only on a p.c.

The padlock icon you mentioned is that on a different browser??

Thanks for your help, I have also asked her not to do anymore online purchasing until I can sort out the security issue.
