There is a second custom firmware posted at htcmania with root, market, google apps and 210MB free app space. I just installed it on my 10 G2. Working fine so far.
Here is the link:[Image Can Not Be Found]

I have just installed this new rom and can confirm it fixes the memory issue.
Android system info says:
Internal memory 247mb with 221mb free. The first rooted rom on mine said 247mb with only 113mb free.
This is on first start up with no additional apps loaded.
Market version is 3.3.11

OK wait..... we have a problem. This new rom is not fully rooted. No write access to /system.
I tried to install BusyBox and got an error saying it was not a rooted system and that it could not write to /system/bin or to /system/xbin.
Â
So this is about the same as my own half rooted FW except that it gives you a newer Gmarket of 3.3.11

I have a Arnova 10 G2 4gb and have installed the firmware and had no trouble on that account. the Wifi works and  the app space seems solved. However I cannot get the Marketplace or Talk to register as the device is expecting a mobile network over which to register and will not use the Wifi. So I cant seem to install Marketplace or similar. Is there any thoughts or ideas as to what might be tried ?Â

I have had the problem as well but this is how you fix it. Some say just reboot and it will then talk to google but this is what I do and it works every time
Â
1) Go into manage apps and click on google framework. In there click on the clear data button. Now go into the Gmail app and do the same thing and clear data.
2) Now reboot.
3) On boot up do not open Gmail but open the market. You should be able to login now and it will connect.
4) If Gmail wont work after that then repeat step 1 for just the Gmail app and clear data. Reboot again and Gmail should now work.
Â
This gets me going every time.

Thanks Bob; could you maybe review this because I followed instructions for framework and gmail and neither of which has helped. There is much discussion over here : http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=1a743e9b86168207&hl=en&start=40 for which it appears that at some point Marketplace took a decision to want to use anything BUT a wifi connection to update a google account. Adding via youTube has not helped.Â
Â
I wonder if a full factory reset for this device ( keeping the firmware ) would do the trick ? either way it seems amazing to me that this much work is needed. Though I do , do DO appreciate your input

Â
nailed it : After installing the rom dont screw about anywhere else in settingsjust add your wifi then go straight to market place !Â
Â
Solution: I went to Settings, privacy, and factory data reset (reinstallation). Â Â

Yes, didn't notice that at first because root apps like titanium backup are running fine.
Anyway I think is a pretty good FW for now until we have a better solution (/system rw, Gapps and 200MB+ of app space)or ICS .
I’ve been using it for a few days with no problems.
