Hi, I'm a Philly Arnova 10 g2 user. I followed the instructions and the market is working good.

I copied the entire folder that I extracted the files to the sd card. I ran them per the instructions, had to reboot 2x's to get everything working correctly.

It is not the latest market (1.82)  and it does not update to the latest market. But after d/ling several

apps, they did update on their own. Hope this helps.

Thanks again.

Yep this process worked for me as well.  No root and Market.

Thanks!

I have taken off the custom firmware for now as I need to prepare my daughters tablet for Christmas and I could not do this with the current custom firmware due to the issue of running out of storage space. As soon as the issue is sorted I will re-install the firmware.

I have installed the original Arnova firmware back on. And now have followed the instructions from the User in this forum ultimodiablo. I can confirm that this method works and I now have the Android market ( Not the latest version of it) working. Everything I purchased from when I had the Custom firmware Android market on Synced perfectly with this, so basically all my purchases where there as soon as I loaded the software on, it was just a matter of downloading them again!.

I did back up the Market from the custom rom and installed that during the process but had problems with it so I used the market included in the files supplied.

I will give it a more thorough testing in the next couple of days but up to now it seems good! [Image Can Not Be Found]

It is just a shame that the Market is old. Is there anyway to use the latest market with this way by changing some of the installation files???

Why; what's wrong with it? I hate the most recent versions of gmarket which just shoves marketing clutter in your face and hides the crucial button to go to myapps under options. The only drawback I notice is the old market doesn't seem to offer updates to things you didn't download thru that tool (so maybe redownload saved apk's?).

This unrooted approach works for me now. I had to reboot it a few times to get gmarket lite to work. NO APPSPACE PROBLEM! You can load a gazillion apps – not because there is any more appspace, but it isn't pre-filled. Games respond much faster, maybe due to more slack in appspace.

It is okay just not good to navigate and the latest market shows up more
information like for example the latest promotion of 10p
apps, specific tablet apps , top paid free etc. But at least
I have loaded about 40 apps on and not ran out of space.

And as I have just found out the google android web market now supports
non google certfied devices by browsing the market on the arnova through
a web browser

Dang I just reloaded again after getting root (except RW to /system) using.  Now when I load all these files I cant logon to my google account from the Market?  I keep getting "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server".  I had this happen the first time but kept trying and the 3rd time it logged in.  It must be some issue with Google now and then?

Rebooting did not help but I figured it out and now get in 100% every time even after a reflash of firmware.

1) After installing all the G Market files go try to login to Gmail.  You will get an error.

2) Now go into settings and manage apps.  Click on Google framework.  Clear the cache files.

3) Do the same thing for Gmail and clear the cache.

4) Power down and back up.

5) DONT launch the market but launch Gmail and login.  It should work.

6) Now you can launch the Market.

Hope this helps someone.

Wow - do you have to wear a tinfoil hat and spin clockwise while doing it (grin)? That sounds like trial and error desperation, but since it is from you I assume there is some underlying rhyme and reason.

I am guessing your procedure isn't needed for the stock firmware in question, but just for your homebrew semi rooted one? I didn't need to do this, and in fact have never activated or even permitted gmail because I don't want messages flooding in to my tab.

Yes it is a tin foil hat kind of thing 😉  Not sure why either!  After many flashes and loading the non-rooted G Market, sometimes I have to go through that "tin foil hat" procedure to get Gmail working again or the Market.  The built in Email app does not have to do this.  Not sure why but what I said above works every time.  I would say after a reflash, 50% of the time Gmail or the Market will give me that server connection error and I have to do the clear cache thing and reboot....

NOW.... Where are the Aliens 😉  Or should I say the Android 🙂

Hello,

Thanks for this great Tutorial.

Google Market and Google Mail runs without root on

ARNOVA 7 G2 ---> I Confirm it works great....

Here is what i have done with your Guide...

Extract the files, transfer the files and then install the apks using file manager in this order:

-1.Google Services Framework -2.OneTime Initializer -3.Setup Wizard -4.Talk -5.Gmail -6.Vending

further:

1) After installing all the G Market files go try to login to Gmail. You will get an error.
2) Now go into settings and manage apps. Click on Google framework. Clear the cache files.
3) Do the same thing for Gmail and clear the cache.
4) Power down and back up.
5) DONT launch the market but launch Gmail and login. It should work.
6) Now you can launch the Market.

Only Change was that i have no "cached files" for "Gmail and Google framework" to delete.

So i have deleted the "data files" itself...

Very Very thanks...

Hello,

i have a problem on the 7g2 with the above market-files.

Internal memmory run out of (from 8gb to 247,93mb)...may be a partition size was DECREASE ???

so at the moment all off my apps will be installed to "internal memmory", may be called "telephon memmory". so i have only 20mb free now, but internal may be 8gb, so how i can change the instlall-location without root???

now i have only a internal memmory for 247,93mb no 8gb ???

may be a problem this come with the google appz installation to the 7g2…

so i cannot install furthermore apps or games to the 7g2…

any ideo for this ???

Did you install the rooted firmware?  If so that is a known issue currently with system memory.  You do not need to use this un-rooted process to install the market on the rooted firmware!  Use Arctools to do that.

If you are not using the updated rooted firmware then I have no idea as it works fine on my 10 G2.

I tried the method below and it worked on one of my three Arnova 7 G2.  I did exactly the same thing to all three, does anybody have any idea why I could get it to work on one, but not on the other two?
