Does anyone know whether or not there is an Ice Cream Sandwich in the pipeline anywhere for this tab?

I haven't heard any announce so far, either from Archos/Arnova or any other Rockchip based tablets manufacturers.

Hardware wise the 10G2 should be able to support ICS, but is probably in the range of the minimum specs.

Wait and see...

Thanks for this feedback Damo 😉

If Arnova does not provide ICS, we will probably see it thru developments from communities with a CyanogenMod 9 port on RK2918.

ICS source code has been released by Google.

RK2918 source code has been published according to the LGPL:

http://www.arctablet.com/blog/archos-tablet/lgpl-rk2918-linux-kernel-source-code-publication/

And a preview of ICS is already running thru CM9 on some devices, including the single core Nexus One.

Hey guys check this link http://androidcommunity.com/ch.....-20111125/ :)
It seems that first ICS powered tablet from Rockchip will be available soon. So what do you think about official/unoffical port?

Thanks for the update, that's good to finally have a more or less official announce.

Wait and see what's coming and there is always hope for an independant developers port of the CyanogenMod9 ...

Hi guys, tablet was officially announced by Rokchip here.

So in few weeks we should have ROM dump from that device (hopefully) 🙂

Or maybe somebody already working on ICS port? Don't be shy and let us know! 😉

I haven't heard about independant ICS port for RK2918, but the guy behind the CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) port on RK2818 is now starting to work on RK2918 devices. Maybe there's some hope for CM9 on our G2 devices when CM7 is stable...

Sorry I forgot to include the reference, yea I mean fun_ / naobsd from androtab.info

I checked CM7 on RK2818, it's not really usable yet for the general public, but there has been lots of progress these last months. Too bad fun_ is stopping to work on RK2818, there doesn't seem a lot of people interested in taking over.
