FYI I used on the 4 choices in Arctools the bottom choice; "Default apps & Market 3.4.4 (root install).   I did not test anything else other than "Default apps & Market 3.4.4 (rootles install), which did not work for me.  Remember Admin is BETA testing rootless install now so please use the (root install).

I did not test the rootless install. only the first two and the root install. The root install did not work.

Anyway. it is working fine, and the google services are not been installed as apps like the rootless install.

OK this is not my problem and is not a problem BECAUSE OF MY FIRMWARE!!!!  There is an issue with Arctools 0.58.

Using Arctools 0.58, when I do a download of "Default Apps & Market 3.4.4 (root install)" I get an error;
"Error - 25: File copy failed - Archive file cannot be accessed, please check that your device is not mounted on USB"
Using Arctools 0.57 it is fine!

THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH MY FIRMWARE but some problem with Arctools 0.58

REMEMBER Arctools 0.58 is a BETA so sorry... My Firmware works.  Admin needs to fix Acrtools 0.58

If you guys still have Arctools 0.57 handy it will work. However if using Arctools 0.58 use the "Default Apps & Market 3.4.4 (rootless Install)" and that will work.  Just watch carefully as each Google app is installed one at a time.  Install each one and keep following the prompts.  After your all done, reboot FIRST before launching the Market.  I just tested that and it works on a fresh flash.!

AGAIN this is NOT a problem with my Firmware but some problem with Arctools 0.58.  I am sure Admin will fix this soon.

Eeee gads.... Using "Default Apps & Market 3.4.4 (rootless Install)" does not seem to give you the Market 3.4.4 🙁  It looks like the OLD Market.....

Admin needs to work on the latest version of Arctools and get root install working again.

By the way no matter what Market is installed, I used Superuser.apk version 3.02 in my ROM build.  The Market will tell you to update to 3.07. Do it.  It gives a better user experience but I have seen no issues yet.

Don't worry. I'm sure admin will fix that. Anyway the first two option of arctools .58 are working fine.

I'm not sure what is the difference between the rooted install market and the first two (which also requires root).

Can you share arctools .57 so I can test that one?

Great job, keep the good work!!Cool

0.58 is the newest release on Appslib.  I happened to keep version 0.57 on SDCard because I was flashing my ROM so many times I just needed it locally so I did not have to go through setup of wireless and download it every time to test it.

I am attaching 0.57 although I am not sure Admin would want that to happen?  But it works and gives you 3.4.4 Market which works really well!  Use the "3.4.4 (root Install)".  Really nice Market with this one.

I am sure Admin will fix 0.58 soon but he told me in a PM today he would not be around much over the next few days for the Holidays so I expect it will be a while.  Thats cool....

I will also not be online for a while after about noon tomorrow Pacific time.  After that it wont be until Sunday at best if that.  I hope others use my Firmware so when I come back I can hear it works or I need to do more work 🙂

Here is the link to 0.57: http://www.helifreakswag.com/arctools057.zip

Please let me know when you have downloaded it so I can delete it as I am not sure Admin would approve of me sharing it.

Here you can find chainfire3d application :

https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d

Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver. What does that mean? It means that Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two. It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plugins to provide extra functionality.

It's useful to gain compatibility with Tegra and PowerVR 3d application, I've tried with old firmware but it doesn't work, it requires full rooted device, maybe now with your new firmware could work.

Thank you again for your work on the arnova 10 g2 ....

Hi .58 does work... If you use the second Selection..  I too got an eror 25 unable to access archive folder.  But I messed around and if you use the second selection in the list it works fine.  Also works for .60 if you use the second selection.  Doesn't have (root) or (non Root) next to the name.

So far I find the root to be awsome.  The speed increase in processing is very noticible and so is the improvment in wifi.. for some reason with the stock and prvious roots I would average 10-20 % on the wifi.  In the same spot they are now averaging 30-50% .  I also am not having the problems I had holding the connections to the spots.

Thanks for you Great work.

This is working perfectly for me. I used 0.57 to install the rooted market and have Titanium Backup and Root Explorer working with full root access. I was also able copy the Titanium Backup folder from my phone and restore Rom specific items from the Rom on my phone and as long as they're not system apps they work fine. I think I can even make system apps run if I move them to the right folder and chmod correctly. Thanks for all your work Bob.

Glad to hear everything is working fine this time!  🙂

FYI Chainfire3D does not work.  Totally locks up the system and I had to reflash.  I tried all the different install options as well.  No go.
